All points earned from essays... not the best lecturer, but very encouraging and helpful teacher. If you want a good survey of environmental issues, a few left-wing rants, and some prime nap time.. this is the class for you.

As dry as the western Sahara, as clear as the wide Amazon. I really tried paying attention in class at the beginning, but before long I was browsing the internet or playing Minesweeper to occupy myself. Other than his teaching, I think he's a great guy. He's very available and helpful outside of class, but inside class you're better off napping.

Very nice guy, with a dry sense of humor! He is very opinionated on issues with the world, as many people are. But, he loves to hear what your views are, too. The class is very relaxed, and as an ARCH major, I recommend this class. I learned a lot more about our environment. Just show up and listen, and read the assignments. It is interesting

Worst class I've ever taken. Horrible teacher. Gives different answers to questions on different days. He rambles on about stuff, and does not explain anything in depth. Unless you are an expert I do not recommend this class.

DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE! This course is not necessary, you can take Raster GIS instead. Do not take Intro to GIS with Cleaveland. His lectures are horrible, notes and book are useless! You will have to teach yourself and that is HARD to do in this class

I didn't learn much of anything, he will pace around the room and giggle to himself for hours on end, i don't get the joke. One time he almost exploded beacuse (like every GEOG professor) he is a tree-hugging liberal. Just sit in the back and play comp.
