Really no tags apply to this man. The class was alright, a bit challenging if your're not accustomed to programming. But he is helpful and will answer any questions. Have your things turned in on time or he has a hissy fit. Some days he comes in that way though so just try to stay out the way. Most times he's in an ok mood. Do the work, you'll pass

This was matte painting and its normally taught by Ilardi, but the due to schedule changes, Kesson was put on board. This was not his subject, but not his fault. He did what he could and would even find tutorials, references, or guest speakers to answer questions. Great guy.

Malcolm is a wonderful professor. Beware, he will be angry if you don't do your work, and it will be embarrassing (speaking from experience). The amount of information he gives you in lectures is not a lot, but if you ask any questions about something, that becomes a very informative lecture itself and he typically explains it so everyone can hear

Sit near the front and be respectful and he will be probably one of the best professors you will have. He will literally show you something that looks extremely complicated, but after about 30-45 minutes of explanation, it's super easy. He is very hands-on with his teaching methods and will absolutely help you one on one.

Easily one of the most intelligent teachers in the VSFX department. I took all of his grad level classes (502, 705, 755), and while the material is tough, he explains it in a way that makes it understandable. Focus is on aesthetic just as much as technical skills. He is not a hard grader but you need to show up and put your best effort.

Malcolm is the kind of professor who can draw a perfect circle on the whiteboard on his first try (legitimately, though). He's incredibly intelligent and has a lot to say about the class material. He's a no-nonsense sort of guy that won't pull your weight for you, and appreciates having your full attention during his lectures.

Malcom can be a bit pri ckly at times, but taking the class is well worth it. He explains the material with a clarity and precision that is unparalleled. I also enjoyed his sense of humor, although it seemed I was alone in that regard.

Teaches Renderman. I love his accent! He knows his stuff, and appreciates people interested in it. If you do the work and put effort into it you can't fail. If you don't like programming don't take this class.
