Since this is a pronunciation class, it can be difficult, but Dr. Hurtado is really helpful and super accessible. She is very just with her grading-- she is forgiving, but fair.

This class is fairly easy as long as you show up to class and do the homework. It's basically grammer concepts and vocab. There's two group projects and a couple in class debates. Overall a great teacher, she makes sure to explain the material really in depth.

She's a nice person, but there are waaaay too many tests and quizzes in this class. With the rest of the typically college workload, it seems impossible to keep up with this classes work. Plus attendance is a grade, which sucks. I absolutely don't recommend this course if you have a busy schedule. I was always stressed out in this class.

Literally the worst professor ever. You don't take any notes in the class. All she does is make you speak in Spanish the entire class period. It's impossible to learn anything with this professor unless you really know your spanish!

She teaches the class well, and you will learn a lot if you read, try and pay attention. She is a harsh grader, especially on oral exams and labs where you have to talk. However, the written exams are not too bad, if you study. It's difficult, but you learn a lot of practical suggestions for pronunciation.

This class is a lot of work, but Hurtado is a wonderful professor. You'll have to conform to general Spanish which can be a little frustrating, but that's the only way the class can function. She's extremely helpful outside of class. Do not be afraid to ask her for help!

Great class, great teacher. The whole class is in Spanish, which is fantastic. She doesn't grade easy or hard, but somewhere in the middle where it's really completely fair. I can't wait to take another of her classes!

She is SO nice! She is a native spanish speaker from Colombia so she really knows her stuff. She gives out a lot of work, but it honestly helped me a lot! I would not want to take Spanish with any other professor!

If you're serious about learning spanish this is the absolute best proffessor to take! I love going to class and she does assign a lot of work, but it's not busy work - it actually helps you learn. She truly wants to help people learn. Her class has been one of my favorites so far! Definitely take her if you have the opportunity!!

Si! What a fun class. I would recommmend taking her any day. However, while you can get an A without trying, if you plan to continue on in Spanish, make sure you pay attention and try to catch all the nuances if you can- SPN 201 is a MUCH harder class!!
