Comment:
I was only in this class for 3 lectures & dropped it simply because of the way she treated students in class; very rude/snappy towards them. Also, take heed of the technology warnings- she went off on people for being on their laptops to take notes the first day & said that technology is "the devil's instrument" & said phones cause brain cancer

Marcia is an okay prof but beware the cell phone thing. Do NOT let her catch you on it during class. Just show up for class and read the textbook for the midterms and you'll be fine.

The tests weren't overly hard, and her lectures were generally easy to follow, but she was somewhat rude, hard to get a hold of at times, HATES technology, didn't have our grades online, and goes off on weird tangents. I don't think I will take from her again.

I found her classroom ethics to be very rude, specifically to students of non-anthro background. Many Tangents, and hates the use of "brain rotting devils technology" ie. cell phones and laptops. many quizzes and two exams, and a book review. Content is easy and decent, but you have to work harder than you should at a 200 level to get good marks.

Her tests are easy but she's a psycho when it comes to cellphones and gets off topic in almost all of her lectures.

The actual content of the class could have been good, shes just boring and goes off on tangents. If she catches you on your phone she'll go off on a tangent about the phone being the devil. Overall easy class, take it with someone different.

Though she is fairly repetitive and eccentric at times, Marcia is a good professor. I enjoyed the course material and she showed films in class that I found fascinating. She prepares you well for exams. She says the course texts are all required, but I never used mine once and did very well. Save yourself the money, and just go to class lectures.

I took Marcia's Anthropology 100 class. The class had no papers or group projects. There were just 3 multiple choice exams that weren't cumulative. And if you study, and use the online resources (highly reccommend using!!) you can do really good in the class. She does tend to ramble, but she's really funny and the content of lectures is interesting

Would not recommend going to her office if you have any questions. She is rather rude and ignorant to you, makes you feel unintelligent. All midterms and Finals had questions on it that weren't taken up in class or in text book.

It's a fairly easy class. The challenge is paying attention. She rambles and takes forever to explain a simple concept. Due to this she'll forget the topic or definition and move on. Sometimes she'll rush through the lecture and then stall for the remainder of class. Excellent idea to use online resources for studying. Attendance is mandatory.

This class was very straight forward. She tells memorable stories to help you learn the terms and definitions, which is mostly what the class consists of. I liked it as a first year class.

Loved this class, Marcia uses a textbook that is easy to follow she does not stray from the course outline. The textbook features interactive web quizzes and games. All the tests were multiple choice and no assignments. Very easy class to get an A.

BUY THE TEXT! attendance is mandatory as she does not post notes. She will write a word on the board and then talk about it. You write what you hear. I found her to be funny, but depends on your sense of humour, it's a very dry humour.

I enjoyed this class. Show up as no notes are posted. Do the extra credit work, it's a free 20% of the mark. DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE OR TALK IN CLASS! she will call you out and kick you out. It's funny if it's not you. Buy the text book you will need it for assignments.

The class was not enjoyable. She was very confusing in her lectures and in describing the content of exams. She often went off on tangents completely irrelevant to the class. Her favourite thing to do is demonize cellphones would not take a class from her again.

This class is very boring. Lectures are long and there are several online quizzes, 2 midterms; each midterm she will give a review and when you show up to write it, half the content you studied will not be on the exam, it will be surprises that were not covered in class and were only in the textbook.

Not the most exciting content, but Marcia did include actual world examples in some sections of the course. Very easy exams, just study lecture notes and textbook vocab. Some multiple choice questions are even laid out with a very obvious right answer. Can be a little snippy and sarcastic at times, but overall seems alright. I just had no interest!

Very straightforward learning experience; if you do your work, attend class (MOST IMPORTANT!), and study for the tests, you will achieve a grade between 75-95. Don't be afraid to go see her in her office if you have questions. GO TO CLASS, TAKE NOTES!

To do really well on the exams read the text book and know all of the vocabulary. She will add extra information in her lectures. She's pretty fair about telling you what to study for the tests. Going to class is a must. her lectures are not really clear. Lots of time spent watching videos.
