If you pay attention in class, program a little bit everyday, and ask him questions, you'll be fine. If you don't get something, ask because he doesn't bite and wants everything to be crystal clear for you! Lots of group projects, so make sure you go to tutoring as well since he's a pretty tough grader. Very good lectures though!

I really liked this class. He lectures from his slides. The beginning of the course went super fast with him throwing new content then towards the end he slows down. If you don't understand the material find a smart friend and do every project with them. NEVER cheat in his class, he kicked some girl out of comp sci for cheating. GO TO TUTORING

After taking his course I can say that the course is difficult, but if you go to tutoring and apply your self to the homework you can definitely pass his course. Also do well on the group projects as they are an easy A. He is not like other professors, if you do poorly he will not hesitate to give you a zero on an exam.

It's clear that he knows his stuff and cares about the students in class. He re-explains things that students don't understand and makes sure everything we learn is crystal clear. If you do your homework, you should be fine. After all, in order to program well, you have to do a lot of programming.

He's really hard, dont take it if ur lazy and have no life. If u r not smart or u dont have a smart friend, ur done. If u dont have smart friend, pretend smart people r ur friend Find someone who is smart, trust me. They will eat food w/ u so u feel less stupid. Marco makes me lose sleep at night but its ok, because smart people help.

I can't explain how much this professor hurt my academic career. The way he taught his class made me think I was horrid at math, and shied away from an Econ-focused major and went with more qualitative work. I ended up retaking multiple stat classes and excelling at them, but as a senior and in grad-school. He made me afraid of collegiate math.

Absolutely awful professor. He stresses using the 'design recipe' as if thats going to help you understand the ridiculously hard functions he ask you to create during exams. And if you forget one part of that recipe you will automatically get a B. As a student you are forced to take him, being the only option, so make sure you prepare for this mess

I can create a multiplayer video game! That is literally the only time you will feel proud of yourself in this class. Quizzes and tests, gives a problem you write a program that works without any documentation you fail. You miss out one thing in the documentation you get B+ at best. Do not expect a perfect 4.0 if you take his class.

All he does is read off of the already made PowerPoints. If you ask him a question, he usually responds with a question in a judgmental tone. You're going to have to basically go to tutoring in order to actually learn. Almost all of your grades are from group projects.

Professor Marco ruined computer science for me. He reads off slides the entire class that aren't even useful and most of the time there's an error on it. At one point of the year, there were only 3 kids who showed up to class because everyone gave up on the lectures. He suggests going to tutoring because he definitely is not the best at teaching.

Hardest classes I've ever had in my life. If you're not going for a CompSci degree, no point in taking his class. Teaches every class in Racket from Intro to Automata. Teaches you how to think using recursion and gives ample time for homework, you'll need it. Start the exams immediately and be ready for sleepless nights working on them.

He really does not care if you learn anything in the class. He is just happy knowing that he knows the stuff. He also thinks that this made up language that no one uses called Dr. Racket is actually the greatest thing known to man when it isn't useful anywhere in the real world. He can't explain anything and he is a horrible professor.

Imagine an online class that has a reader in the background of a classroom and thats his class. He is horrible in answering questions so if you are confused, about an answer he has to your question, he will move on and ask for anymore questions but you won't have any because you're still confused from the previous material. Pretty bad teacher

You will be assigned many group projects. Quizzes are also given sometimes without notice. The professor does not know how to teach. Sitting in a chair and talking from a powerpoint is not how you should be teaching a computer science class - especially an intro to program design course. There should be a recitation with this course. AVOID!

He uses slides that are not clear. The professor doesn't share with the class the code examples used during class. He does not provide extra credit. He does not provide clear feedback about homework or tests.

I actually worked really hard in this class but it did not matter. Statistics is a subject you need to know how to do by hand. He did not agree, all computer, taught what buttons to push for what situations. He was rude, mocked students openly for questions, and was completely unapproachable. DON'T DO WHAT I DID. DON'T IGNORE THESE REVIEWS. AVOID!

He was so rude and confusion wasn't tolerated. He never stood up, and never taught the material by hand. It was only what buttons to push on a computer. He would laugh out loud at students questions and clearly did not care. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

This class and professor can be tough, but to pass just make you really read the text book and ASK QUESTIONS! If you still need help, I suggest going to his office hours. He's a cool guy that's willing to help you. Don't wait too long to ask for help, or else you'll get lost.
