She's basically a high school teacher that somehow got tenure, and will treat you like a high schooler. You'll get hand cramps trying to keep up with her notes, she'll yell at you about having a phone out in a 150 person lecture hall, and almost no one I know passes her classes.

Doesn't explain things properly. Expects you to do impossible tasks without use of calculator in Calculus. Overall, cancerous.

She has published literally no research since getting tenure, refuses to teach anything above 100 level, and pushes off all work onto student workers. She's basically a high school teacher. She will go excessively fast in lecture, give a lot of homework, and is generally condescending and dismissive if asked for help.

Common sense people. Listen in class, attend class, do homework. You'll get a B or higher just put in the effort and don't be lazy. She does make mistakes but honestly who doesn't get confused occasionally? If you do the homework you will get good grades on tests. Homework online is a bit harder then what's taught in class but it tutors you online.

If math isn't your strong point, she's really hard to follow. She gets confused with her own notes/problems SO often. I've always been good at math so I didn't struggle, however, I know many people that did. There's homework online every week and she has a math problem to turn in after every lecture to prove attendance.

homework is long but for the most part it is easy. Tests aren't that bad at all just make sure you actually use your notecard (fill it up with information) go over the study guide and you will probably get an A.

Not a good professor all in all. There are quizzes once a week and tests are separated into different days. A lot of homework is assigned and is very difficult. I only went to the lab to do my worksheet/quiz/test and got a decent grade, but only because I did my homework. Class get tough very fast and is hard to catch back up.

By far the worst professor at EKU. Extremely dry and rude to students. We often find ourselves correcting her problems on the board because she doesn't know how to do them herself. Does two examples, expects you to know how to do every math problem in the world. Freaks out if index cards (for attendance) are not the EXACT size she wants. STAY AWAY!

She didn't really teach the chapters that were covered; she would just do a few problems (half of them were practice problems she didn't even show you how to do) with almost no background information that was randomly thrown together. I had to use MyMathLab to teach myself through the examples on each problem. Would not recommend her!

Dr. Stribling lectures effectively and prepares tests of average difficulty. Go to class, study, and do your homework, and you'll be fine.

She wasn't bad at teaching, per say. BUT her tests were way too hard. She didn't give or teach you the material you needed to pass. She allows a note card on tests with formulas and such, but it doesn't help. I used mymathlab to teach myself everything. Her tests are too hard for anyone to pass, and she isn't helpful. Good luck.

Do NOT take Stribling unless you want to learn about dyslexia and lasik eye surgery. Covers about 1/4th of the in class material that is on the tests and homework. Unless you're an absolute wizard at learning Math, you WILL be spending several extra hours outside of class learning the content on your own to make up for her poor teaching.

Allows "cheat sheet" on exams. Went to every lecture and copied notes word for word and straight onto my cheat sheets and STILL failed the exams. Terrible teacher.

I took this course in 2012. She does notes on the board, mymath lab was pointless since it didn't cover your grade, and tests were much harder than they should be. If you try her office, forget it, she winds an egg timer to time you before she tells you to leave.

Dr. Stribling is a professor who has been here long enough to know that students who make excuses won't make it. Expect a good bit of homework due on My Math Lab, quizzes, and tests. So far I am doing ok in her class, but the final is worth 200 points!!! So learning all of the material is what matters. As long as you are a hard worker you'll be ok

I took Professor Stribling for MAT 105. She was very clear and helpful in lectures- if you had a question (you have to let her know) she was very accommodating for clarification. She offered 5-10 bonus points on every test. She was very friendly and easy to talk to after class- great teacher.

She is a very mono-toned teacher and her classes are easy to fall asleep in. Just do the homework and really study for the exams and you should get by with at least a D in this class. If you need help DO NOT go to her for help, your best bet would be the tutoring office.

Comment:
Really it's not that hard. If you had math in high school and passed, you're fine. I slept through almost all the lectures (when I actually attended) and got a B. If you are struggling with math, take someone else. If you are taking because it's required, she's great. She just tells you what things you need to recall and doesn't take attendance.

Comment:
She is extremely unhelpful when you talk to her about any sort of problems you are having. Also if you try to tell her that your going to miss class and why her response will most likely be "I DONT CARE" before you can even give her a reason why. I do B+ Average on the MyMathLab work every night and still received no higher than a 71 on the Exams.
