Comment:

Garnsey knows what she is doing and expects a lot from her students. If you want a good grade, you must put the effort in. She gives students what they earn, with no freebies. Her projects are a lot of work and I had to read the textbook for every chapter to get the grade I wanted.

No extra credit. Tons of little assignments, and quizzes that she never gives you the correct answers to. She is a little intimidating, but is actually a really nice woman. She is usually the only Accounting Information Systems teacher, so you're probably stuck with her. It's not terrible, and you will survive the course.

This class is not bad if you put in the effort and do your job. Show that you care and start the assignments in advance. Second half of the course is basically computer science, so you do not even need intense accounting knowledge to do well. Material and lectures are a bit dry, however the class itself is do-able. Give her a chance!

Dry lectures, but if you go to her for help she will help you. Start assignments early don't wait until the last minute. The assignments are lengthy and hard, but the quizzes are straightforward. She tells you what you need to know for tests. Attend all classes and read the book. You should do well.

Absolutely horrible. I have never learned less in a semester from somebody. Doesn't convey topics well at all, students are constantly confused and she can never give a clear answer. Tests are impossible and the projects are ridiculous. God awful. Stay away.

Dr. Garnsey is an amazing teacher. She will always take the time to sit down and help you. She teaches with enthusiasm and loves what she does. I learned so much from her and its always nice to go to class because she is a stone cold fox!

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE-- AVOID AT ALLLLLL COSTS. the class was rediculious, she was unwilling to help (she had favorites that she would be willing to help, but thats about it), rude, annoying, BORING, unfriendly. She made accounting seem IMPOSSIBLE-- and whats funny now is that I graduated and work in a law office doing accounting ha! dont take her!!

"okay" "ok" .....how many times can you hear that word before you lose your mind? probably after the 2nd class. tests are extremely difficult. Homeworks are pointless because they dont help you nor do they reflect the material on the test.

Dr. Garnsey really does try to help all of her students, and you can always e-mail her for any problems that you have on the homework. But her class is VERY hard for the non-accounting mind. Assigns a lot of homework and long lab problems. I would probably be able to take her class with more ease if it was spread into 2 semesters instead of 1...

Dr. Garnsey really tries to get all her students to understand. I felt she was a good teacher and knew what she was talking about. Always available for help and very upfront about the classwork and what is expected. Would take a class with her again.

This class on its own is absolutely ridiculous, but she takes it to the edge of impossibility. She's very short-winded, her explanations don't make much sense to her students and her instructions are terrible. But she's 1 of the 2 profs that teach advanced so you're pretty much ****ed unless you want to take Dr. Stokes.

If you plan of staying sane, then do not even think of taking any class with her. Her nickname is fuzzlip because that is one thing you see when you look at her. Most people in the class received a C or lower. Several other students and myself busted our butts studying, but could not retain the material because she could not teach effectively.

Simply put-I am in the middle of the class now, and this woman is driving me to the edge of insanity!!!! Never in my life have I come across such pointless and long daily homework, and tests that seemingly have been created to only trick you. Please trust me and avoid her at ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
