Most confusing professor I've ever had. She does lectures based on the essays she assigns for each exam, so her lecture slides are usually the essay question and then she talks about it for 10 minutes. She goes on a lot of tangents, though, and never directly answers the question. Assigns lots of busy work, but I learned nothing in lab or lecture

On her lab study guide for what we need to know for the lab practicals she put we should know about kidney stones. They in lecture I hear her say she doesnt know how kidney stones are made. How can you put that on the study guide for what we need to know if you dont know it yourself?

Before taking her 103B class, I was worried not to pass her class due to all the comments I've read here, but it turned out to be the opposite to me. She makes things clear. she is ready to help and answer questions. If you want to succeed in her class do your essays, do your lecture questions and ask for explanation when things seem confusing.

She is 100 times better than the only other choice we have at OHLONE. She writes on the board, speaks moderate, clear lecture, and easy to follow if you READ the chapter before comming to class. But if you DONT READ then DON'T take her or BIO A, B here! Make sure you have her for lecture and lab! I wish I took 103A with her and learned something!

She has a clear grading curriculum and the essays indicate what will be on the exam. I have a B.S in biochemistry and I had to drop this class with a W because I was struggling in the class! The feedback she gives in the essays are very limited so be sure to write as much as you can on them. Otherwise goodluck! I hope you do better than me. :)

Labs are terrible. We just go in there and do our own thing. I would rather take an anatomy and physiology class at the medical school level than this. The essays are insane and are not a good reflection of what you know. This class should be 6 units

This class was so challenging. But professor Kauffman gives enough information during lecture. To pass the lecture exam write essays as many as possible and get feedback from her. For the practical test. just prepare a lot. I am going to take her class next semester again.

A&P is not an easy class, that's just the reality of most college level science classes. Professor Kauffman knows her stuff, and if you pay attention, study, and ask questions, you will be fine. Be ready to work, but she will help you out a long the way and if you are interested in a medical career then you will want a good teacher like her.

This class is very difficult. I am a straight A student and I had to drop this class and get a W. Kauffman is very good at explaining things in the lecture, but the written tests and lab quizzes are extremely difficult, and this is where your grade will lie. Good luck to anyone who takes this class. You better have a lot of time on our hands.

This teacher is such a joke. Don't waste your time taking her class. I wasted a whole semester taking her class only to drop it with a "W." She is extremely confusing in lecture and she is not clear with what she expects. Plus, her lectures are dry and never ending. Go take A & P at Mission College. They have better science teachers.

The material in this class is overwhelming and difficult to grasp. If you really want to learn, Dr K is your best choice; she is awesome, patient & knowledgeable. You need to write many essays to solidify your knowledge and understanding. She will review and correct your essays and add missing concepts. Take this class alone in the semester.

Took both 103A &B! Must be self motivated and keep on top of all tasks. Do the essays its the key to passing exams. Have study partners, attend extra labs, open lab, and create study guides. Professor Kauffman has made me a better student. Dedicate yourself to this class as a job and reap the rewards. Part A got a C and part B got a B. Good luck!

You better attend class and pay attention or youre going to fail. This will be one of the hardest classes you take at Ohlone. Do the essay study guides and get feedback and study off of those because that is what is going to be on the test. Make sure to have a few study buddys and go to the open lab. Its a lot of work but worth it.

I took 103A and 103B as a requirement for Nursing, and struggled all through, despite doing all the work: essays, reading, visiting professor during office hours, attending every lab and lecture and open lab. Unless you plan on memorizing the book, notes, and everything the professor says in lecture, stay away!

I took 103A and Micro at the same time. She's tough but not impossible. 103B is definitely harder than 103A. KEEP UP WITH HER LECTURES! If you fall behind it's suuuuper hard to catch up. The class is tough and she expects you to work hard, but she's also really sweet and reasonable. She's good about answering questions and helping esp. in lab.

Kauffman is a great teacher. pushes you but its worth it. Midterms have everything: circle, fill blanks, short answer, and 1 essay. BE PREPARED. Reread essays over & over again and make them into notes. She's there for you when ever in her office. It all comes down to how bad you want to pass. About 2580 took the final in the end of our Bio 103B!

I had this teacher for both 103A and 103B and it was really difficult. I get mostly As but I was struggling to maintain a B in this class. Don't take too many classes while you take this one; it is very time-consuming. Lots of study and prep required. If you have the drive, you can do it! You won't regret the knowledge you gained from her class.

Honestly, greatest teacher I've ever had. I'm a premed student. The class was not work to me because I loved the subject. Moral of the story, only take the class if you are obsessed with the human body. If you aren't interested, you're going to fail.

She IS very difficult. However, it's not impossible if you acknowledge very early on the amount of work you're going to have to put in. I made the mistake of changing my study habits the first two tests and it almost screwed me over. After that, I went back to what I KNOW works for me, and got A's after that. It's HOURS of studying. Be prepared.
