Comment:

I did okay in the actual class. It was not my best class, but certainly not my worst. We talked more about conspiracy theories, deadly "plagues" and her porcelain cat collection more than anything else. Then, when I started my senior honors thesis for another college, I realized I knew nothing about stats that would benefit my career.

she was very all over the place but I definitely respected her as a teacher. I was the only freshmen in my class but showing up or doing extra credit seemed to help. do the work in class, its practice. she tells you what questions are on the test and you get a flashcard for formulas

Amazing! If you struggle in math take her! She is extremely caring and accommodating! She will go out of her way to answer every question even if it takes an entire class! The homework is not graded and she fully preps you for every test even giving you TONS of easy extra credit! Yes she likes to talk on current affairs, but I found it interesting!

I'm usually pretty good at math and am very willing to put in effort with a good professor. SUCHOW TEACHES NO MATH. We spent way more time talking about Sumerian cuneiform tablets, aliens, and the Russians than math. She allows her cold war fears to waste my class time. She also would have failed if she was forced to stick by the attendance.

Professor Suchow is a bit odd in the fact that she veers off and talks about conspiracy theories and what not, but she is a good professor for the course I take. She gives a lot of extra credit that doesn't involve math which is good for men because I'm horrible at the subject. She's kinda nutty but she's also really nice.

She is precise on using correct methods by not utilizing a calculator which could lead to "careless errors". Ambitious of her methods of how math should be taught within public to college schools in order to strengthen proficiency of HOW to learn math. Differentiates algebraic and numerical methods to give you a choice on what your strengths are.

Prof. Suchow was relatively easy-going for my class. Tests were not easy for most, but she was understanding and dropped some low grades if need be. Although it is difficult to comprehend her lectures at times, I prefer her methods to others, as she doesn't teach too fast and she makes sure everyone is on the same pace.

Good teacher and although she may go on tangents about things that seem irrelevant to the class, if you take the time to listen, she's trying to teach you a way to look at math in the real world, not just math with a pen and paper. Overall good person, and is willing to work with you, so long as you ask. Only negative is she is forgetful with names

This was the worst class I have ever taken. I thought I was doing pretty good given the fact that I am an English major and math has always been my worst subject, then I received my final grade. She was always late, went off topic often and she was never clear. I think I could have taught the class better, honestly. Don't waste your time or money.

I walked into class looking for a course consistent with the title: "Survey of Mathematics." I was expecting Algebra, geometry, math hiistory, etc. as implied by the course description, textbook & graphing calculator. She talked about Conspiracy plots, why we're REALLY in the middle East, energy nodes around the earth. . .I withdrew from the class.

Had her last semester for calc 3, before this class I was a straight A student in calculus and she gave me a D+. She lost work I had turned in and I had no way to prove it. She does not explain things well, does not respond to e-mails, shows up late to class, and is never available even during office hours. Most of my class had similar problems.

Margaret Suchow is a sweet woman. She does well at explaining Math concepts. She won't take the time to know your name or collect your homework (except occasionally). Students often do end up teaching themselves. She canceled class 5 times in one semester. She often didn't return quizzes. Got syllabus 1 mo. into semester.
