Lovely woman! Passionate, encouraging, great lectures. She can be a bit harsh when critiquing but she only wants to help and her notes are always right. Make sure to pay attention in her lectures and book lots of meetings with her or you won't do well in her classes!

Margaret was wonderful! She was very respectful of other students, and actually cared about us and our futures beyond school. She allows you to resubmit assignments, and always offers to discuss them with you. One of the best writing mentors I've had!

Margaret will happily make time for you to ensure that your assignments match her expectations. Should you be on her bad side, she will prioritize other students and be excessively critical of your own work. She seeks professionalism and motivation in her students, and if you do not have either, she will not care about you or your writing.

Took her 'Canada in the Postmodern' class. While she can seem a bit vacant or odd sometimes, she does want you to succeed. Interesting text choices. If you are the slightest bit unsure, ABSOLUTELY ask her for help: I got a D on a paper but she gave me the chance to redo it once we had a meeting and discussion, and as a result I got an A+.

She is a brilliant lady but her constant condescending nature often crosses into blatant rudeness. For her intro class, she acts as if we as students are completely incompetent. When asked about improving myself as a writer I was told "you either have it or you don't, and you do not". She has lots of brilliant theories but is rude when questioned.

Prof Sweatman tries to help each student improve his work. The revisions of our assignments is a must to help us learn to write better. The readings from Norton's Anthology were chosen to illustrate key points of focus, voice, time, dramatic impact, crisis, internal monologue, resolution. I will take another course from her if it is offered.

I took Prof. Sweatman's Creative Writing class because I wanted to learn how to write creatively. It was beyond my expectations as she gave so much of her time and knowledge and I really learned a lot, from a neophyte to an aspiring writer.

If you're a 1st yr student looking for an eng credit, don't take her courses! She seems only interested in helping those pursuing eng even though its a 1st course. She has a lot of captivating ideas but not the type of prof you want for 1st yr eng. Novels were completely obscure. If you are an aspiring author she'll love you, if not, don't bother.

seems like a genuinely intelligent lady but really should not be teaching. spouted off a bunch of theories and concepts but never really dissected the novels. felt that the class was a waste of time and money. she was extremely unclear about the exact nature of the assignments. only bonus was finding wonderful new authors and novels to devour

As Margaret stares into space, the distracted purple haze in her eye suggesting that she is not altogether there, she repeats aloud to herself: "Yeah ... Yeah .... Yeah ... Yeah ... Yeah ... Yeah ... Yeah ... "
