Comment:

Professor Butler came out of retirement to teach my class, she's strict when it comes to etiquette and speeches, but overall is a very kind and wise person. All of the students in her class have such varied backgrounds, and she makes it a point to try and connect with you. If you are mature and show genuine interest to improve, you will be fine.

Prof. Butler is one of the kindest professors ever. She loves to tell stories (which sometimes get her off track.) Very sweet and funny. However, she is a tough grader. She has very high standards/expectations. No one gets an A easily. I never thought I would struggle so much with giving speeches. AVOID SAYING "UM" - it irks her.

I TOOK 141 AND 350 WITH PROFESSOR BUTLER. I LOVE HER PASSION AND HER CLASSES ARE VERY INTERESTING. CLASSES ARE MANDATORY AND HER TESTS ARE HARD BUT OBVIOUSLY YOU HAVE TO STUDY. I GOT A B+ AND AN A- FOR BOTH OF HER CLASSES.

She is very kind and useful. At first I thought I was going to fail because I didnt do so well in two speeches. But I stepped up because she gave me one more try and aced the last two to save my score. Take her! shes more than a professor, shes like a friend and truly cares. By far the best class I have had!

She is AMAZING!My favorite class so far!Yes,she seems intimidating at first but she's really awesome.She really does care.The class takes work&it's not an easy A but definitely worth it,I learned in that class not like others.1 long paper and 2 t/f multiple choice tests.I was 1 of 2 freshmen in the class w/upperclassmen&we passed so it's possible.

She is a very sweet teacher and loves to get close to her students if you talk to her. She reminises alot, this class is on a SUPER CURVE. its very easy to get a B or a C but extremely hard to get an A. Tests are hard and you need to read the book if you want As on the tests. if you dont read(i didnt)ou can pull off a B in class like me. shes kool

She favors athletes and hates when people walk into class late. WATCH OUT-the material is relatively easy but her tests are obscure. The grade consists of 1 long essay and 2 T/F exams. The T/F exams are terrible. I got a B and I did most of the readings.

Easy class with a nice teacher. Her slides are easy to follow, but make sure to buy the books, because they're apart of her tests. She favors athletes and your grade is made up of two midterms and an essay. I didn?t always make it to class and passed with a B.

Boring class and boring teacher. To get an A you can basically only miss 5 pts the entire semester because of her grading scale. There's three tests and one is a take home essay which is relatively easy. I personally wouldn't recommend, and I got an A-

She is extremely strict in the beginning but she is rather sweet. She is very disorganized: you have no idea what you are going to be tested on, She overlaps some exam material. To get an A you need the books, I was bookless and got a B. Beware to deal with her treating you like a 3rd grader for tests; she is obsessed worrying ppl will cheat.

She is a very tough grader but she is veeery passionate about her students and she is always available to answer questions. Her lecture notes are kind of all over the place and she is not specific on what she wants you to study for tests. Tests are pretty easy if you do your reading. Attendance is tricky because she will randomly take attendance.

Overall Great Teacher! I really learned alot of skills that will be helpful in the long run while giving presentations. I would only practice an hour before class and read off a notecard everytime I gave a speech. The one time I felt like I really messed up on a speech I emailed her and she gave me a good grade. Highly Reccomended!

This is a class related to COMM103 which is hard. CCS is much easier. Butler assigns five assignments (Info, Pers, Impro, Group, and Memory), no quizzes or other crap. Butler is a bit intimidating but makes her students better presenters while my professionalism went up. Grades are curved. Easy B+, highly recommend her. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY.

She is an intimidating lady she hates people texting in her class.Other than that i think she does care about her students.She is a fair grader and grades on a curve for the benefit of her students. She does not take attendance only the first few sessions but i would recommend attending class because her lectures are always on the readings.
