This class is such a great class. You do need to read everything that is given; it is recommended to read it before class. She is a great professor and is extremely knowledgable with everything she is teaching. She really cares about her students. You have to put in the work to get the grade you want. Best professor I've had at SDSU she is awesome!

The class material is interesting but she lacks keeping the attention of students. Shes very dry when lecturing. Hard to focus in her class, I was really disappointed. Nice lady but would not take her again.

At the beginning of the semester class participation was stressed but that fizzled off towards the end, no one ever really participated. There are weekly reading assignments but they're not too hard and I found them interesting for the most part. The only thing I didn't like about her and the class was the pt system 3pt essays and no extra credit

Dr. Ibarra is a wonderful person: very approachable, understanding, and patient. She will always help if you ask. It is true that this class requires quite a bit of work for a 150 course but it's all very interesting material. Definitely recoomend her!

You learn a lot in this class. She goes back to the basics of Chicano studies. She is passionate about Chicano studies. I would highly recommend this class. The class was really fun, she sets it up so that you become friends with people in the class, i.e. group projects.

A lot of work for a 110 class. A lot of reading to do. No quizzes but you have to do a reading journal that's due at the end of the semester. No tests, just small papers. Not a hard class, but you have to do a lot of work to get an A. Good prof. but she expects you to work hard to get a good grade.

A lot of work for this class and boring for a morning class. If you're looking for an easy class this is not it. You have to read all of the books for the tests. Class is based on 2 tests that include essay parts, presentation and 2 small papers.

So basically, she has you write 3 papers, an doral presentation, a family geneology diagram, watch films, take a bunch of lecture notes by hands and YOU HAVE TO READ what she assigns. Unless you're already familiar with the material. Overall, she is a good teacher, VERY FAIR, offers extra credit but RARELY. I hope you love to read!

What a college professor should be. With that said, expect a lot of reading, six quizzes, but no tests. One group presentation at the end of the semester and two essays. Took her for CCS110 and 350, 110 was more work and harder, however, she was not as hash when it came to grades.

Nice woman, good teacher. Allows the opportunity to ask questions and knows what she is talking about. Gives weekly 4 pt. quizzes which add up so reawd the required material. 25 minute group presentation but she grades fair if you put in effort. Do the extra credit...it will help.

Whoever commented on this class being a pitty story is stupid because this is not a story, it is reality. This teacher has done her research and there are quizzes on readings each day. It is important to keep up with the small readings. There are two easy papers and a book project, it just requires WORK. She nice and very helpful. A great teacher.

To do well on the tests by the books and reader. If not a chicano then be prepared to feel degraded about once a week.

Nice lady, not too hard as long as you keep up with the reading. I would suggest NOT taking the class if you are not a "chicano" because it is a pitty story pretty much.

Very rigorous course for a 100 class, but you learn a lot. Does not require as many books as in her other classes, but there is more work to be done. Expect to give a 25 min presentation on a book and maybe even have to interview ppl.
