DR. PAK IS GR8! Your grade mostly relies on the tests and a couple of assignments. Tests should be easy as long as you complete the study guide and she also shows you the short answers for the test and her lectures are easy to follow. This class is such an EASY A! Take her, you won't regret it! YOU CAN BASICALLY BREATHE IN THIS CLASS AND GET AN A!

Did tons of extra credit and studied as hard as I could to just get average grade. Nice individuals but you dont learn much. Also when is comes to grading she is weird... too much personal life/home related lecture than actually focusing on power point!

Great professor. She really knows how to keep her students engaged. I absolutely enjoy her lectures. Quizzes every once and a while. Short papers and tutoring options to help you out. Pay attention in class and you'll pass the tests.

A very outgoing teacher who relates the topic you are learning with personal experiences that make the class very relaxing and enjoyable. Study Guides are essential, if it is on the study guide you will need to know it. Study guides are not difficult, just take a little time. Book is pretty much required to complete study guides. Great teacher!

She's super goofy but I liked her! She explains the material so well as if she's telling a story and gives great memorable examples. Best advice I would give you is DO THE STUDY GUIDES given! If it's on the study guide it will be on the test, even if she never went over it, with that being said, having the book will be very helpful for this class.

Nice as heck, wants to be intimidating but isn't. Lots of short essays, but they are very straight forward. The book was practically useless and a waste of money. All the info is in the lecture and presentations, which she posted online. Offers EC. Lectures can get boring at times. Focus on theorists. No surprises in this class all semester.

She gives great analogies to better understand some of the material. Each lecture usually starts off with a small quiz worth 2 points. She practically gives you the answers. That's also how she knows who came to class to mark attendance. GET THE BOOK. Yes, it's on the expensive side but its soooo useful for studying.

She has powerpoints during class, and expects you to read the book to learn more about it. If that was the case, I would've taken an online class. Her powerpoints don't go into detail so if you're looking to write notes during class and rely on those for tests, this class isn't for you.

2 options, either write 10 essays and an in class final or volunteer at CSL, write 10 journals and one take home final. She doesnt give out the guide, so you basically have to learn everything from the power points. The first test is the most difficult, so make sure you pay more attention to this one.

Maria Pak is the best teacher I have had at Grossmont. She explains concepts well and makes class interesting. It was an 8am class and she definitely kept the class alive and laughing. I wish I could take her again!

You have 3 options in this class; write 6 essays and take a final, volunteer at YALLA and write weekly journals and no final, or tutor psy120 students and write weekly journals and no final. 3 multiple choice tests with extra credit. one extra credit writing assignment. easy class if you keep up. she also lets you turn in stuff late if needed

Lots of lecture that is interesting but at time runs a bit dull. If you have taken a child development course, it is almost the same thing. Tests are not cumulative and gives option to do community service and write a paper for final. Overall a fine teacher.

Professor Pak is one of the smartest instructors on campus, and I have so much respect for her. This class was so boring to me, and I hated it, but it's useful info! There are 3 tests, a final, and the MindTap or CSL option. It's hard to raise your grade, so you gotta study for those tests and do the assignments. Got an A!

Maria is a great professor. Psychology can be a bit awkward at times, especially for young students right out of high school, but Maria handled all of the topics professionally and energetically. I took the class 8am on Mondays/Wednesdays, and I never had to fight falling asleep. The grading was fair.

Maria will stay past the time you're supposed to be out, BUT she is probably one of the most laid back teachers. She gives you SO many options to pass the class and you only need to do 4 (unless you're tutoring). Three tests and a paper. All the tests are based off lectures. Also, she will show up to every class, so don't hope for a cancellation.

Dr. Pak is a nice lady and although I'm a psych major Developmental is probably my least favorite branch. However, best part was when she let us write several of our final exam questions ahead of time (the final is essay form) and she graded them, and wrote feedback, which made studying for the final A LOT easier than it otherwise would've been.

Dr. Pak is an awesome teacher. Recommendation for this class is Always do the study guides and keep all your short answer question results.. You will need them for the final. Study the short answers and review study guides. This will help you pass the final. Great class.

Dr. Pak is almost too nice. I got a little frustrated during the semester because of the anecdotes she let other students spill, and we strayed from the lectures. However, she does have good lectures and gets the point across. I'd say I learned a lot from her, and she kept it interesting!
