Comment:

One of the best teachers I've ever had. Extremely knowledgable about history. Perfect balance of caring for students as individuals, and correcting them so they can be at their best. Super understanding and practical. Will change due dates if class needs more time. Gives great feedback. Makes everyone participate in discussion. Fun and energetic.

The class is very interesting if you enjoy history. Class time is typically discussion based. Her syllabus includes four or so papers along with a final research paper. She rarely gives out A's. I would suggest going to her office to have her peer review each paper before you turn in the final draft (although this still won't guarantee an A).

I've taken 4 classes with Strobel. She is amazing and an awesome teacher. Her tests come straight from the notes and she will help you whenever you need it. My favorite teacher in my 4 years at Furman.

Very Helpful Professor and one of the nicest that I have had during my time at Furman. Always willing to sit down and talk to you about your work no matter what it is. 4 tests and a few papers and a debate. You have to study but should do fine if you work with her when confused.

She is an absolutely phenomenal teacher that really wants her students to do well. She is fairly demanding though and requires work even in her intro classes like US History since 1877. She is a tough grader as she will say in class and is not always fair on tests (detailed preparation is necessary) but does make it interesting

She is the bomb in one word. I would agree that there is no easy A involved and writing is important. If you submit a rough draft you will undoubtedly get a better grade. She is extremely helpful, funny and one of my fave raves. i am not a girl

She is a WONDERFUL teacher! So willing to help you outside class, enthusiastic, fun, hilarious, loves history scandals. She is tough on writing, but it helps if you give her rough drafts and keep her in the loop during your writing process. TAKE HER CLASS!! (but I would choose another teacher is you're just taking it for an easy GER- she's tough)

One of Furman's best history professors. US History After 1941 was extremely interesting, and she did a great job teaching the class! If you read and take notes, the test are fairly easy. She was always willing to help on essays, and if you participate in class, she'll love you.

Marianne! What a perfect name for this wonderful woman! Her personality is beyond words. I love how she creeps about with her hips forward. A no non-sense, straightforward, humble lady. Great teacher. If you don't like her, get a life.

I hate history but i loved her class. Tests are easy if you do all your reading and TAKE NOTES. Very helpful and she loves those a$$ kissers so.... ask as many questions as possible but make sure its not stupid bc she will emmbaress you.

Great teacher! Loved her! Pay attention to the lectures, take notes, and you will be FINE. She really wants you to do well, so take your papers in for her to read ahead of time...she loves that! Fairly easy class, and you'll learn A LOT!
