Comment:

Marie Cashion was very knowledgeable about the material presented. She was supportive and gave timely and constructive feedback. When she gave feedback it was clear where you went wrong and what was needed for the future. I would take another class with her in a heart beat. The content was a bit heavy but interesting and updated.

Marie is a good professor. She is a stickler for APA but once you follow the guidelines its not hard. She gives good feedback. She is also very supportive. Many university professors give one chance to submit an assignment. Marie is understand and caring. If your paper isnt acceptable she give help and many opportunities to fix it and resubmit.

Mrs. Cashion is a great professor. She makes you work for your grade, yet she gives you the opportunity to do it over and improve it if your grade was not the best. She is accessible and makes it a priority to communicate even the smallest detail that is required for students to do well. She was very inspirational and encouraging.

Marie Cashion is a great teacher that has enormous respect for her students. She creates a sense of community and belonging in the classroom. She has a warm,sensitive and caring personality. Mrs Cashion has high expectations for all her students in hope to bring out the best in everyone.

Comment:

Great teacher! She makes sure students understand the content and gives timely and helpful feedback. The assignments were challenging but not too difficult. I didn't have any issues at all during the course and felt that I had the support of my teacher throughout.

Having had some issues in relation to citations, Ms Cashion went through it with me. We went back and forth until I was able to get it right and in my humble opinion, once I got that right it didn't affect the overall grade that I received. Ms Cashion is rightfully a stickler for proper citations.

Comment:

Marie explained our assignments and her criteria for each assignment which was understood. The text 'Exceptional Learners' was an amazing book which clarified so many misconceptions about dyslexia,depression,behavioural disorders and so much more. I would recommend her course because it helps develop empathy for your students & Marie really cares!

Marie Cashion was a fabulous instructor! She is sincere and straight forward in speaking and instructing, and very fair with her grade requirements and also her marking. She showed enthusiasm for the subject & warmth towards us learners. While taking her course, I felt less like a student and more like a friend on a learning journey together.

Got an C on the midterm, A- on the paper, god knows on the final, but ended up with a D in the course, took it with another prof and got an A. She wants to talk about herself rather than answer student's questions

Her midterm and assignments were not bad, but come the final and it was very hard and unfair. incongruent to the rest of the class. She also waists a LOT of time blabbing about nothing and about her life. On the midterm she said that we could not ask for one mark if marked wrong but one mark is worth 10% of the grade! Changing mark drastically!

She only speaks about the US. All her stats are US. She doesn't mark papers, she has students doing there Masters marking them. Her tests and what we did in class are 2 different things. Worst teacher I ever had.

nice lady, tests don't really measure your learning. Terms you memorize and then forget, and essay questions are mostly common sense questions. She lost my DVD. She is interested in students though. Meh!

Marie's midterm has no relation to what is in the textbook or what she teaches in the classroom. We covered the material to one of the questions on the midterm the week after the midterm. Her class is interesting enough but once again, her test isn't a true indication of what you know.

She did not care about her students. Inconsistent marking - went in to final exam with a+ and had gone to her study session. Thought I did well, final mark of B+. Did not make sense! AND NOW SHE'S DEAN! I certainly don't feel I can go to her with corcerns.

No comments when marking midterm. Lots of irrelevant material presented. Her overheads suck (bad spelling, overuse of abbreviations, removes them too fast only to leave a blank screen for 5 mins while she tells a story). Rely on memorization for tests. Very bitter woman sometimes.

very friendly and approachable. She does talk about her family a lot but it helps us understand the course material. She really knows her material! Very fair with marking..lets you grade your own papers..with your own rationale for the grade! great prof!
