She's very compassionate and cares about her students and the course. If you're interested in genetics then it for sure is the course for you. A background in biology specifically grade 11 and 12 really helps. Its really easy to do well if you pay attention and prepare for the exam.

The class is material heavy but everything else is quite easy, I thought I was gonna fail but ended up getting an amazing mark. She cares about her students and she's not a hard marker

Best lecturer I've ever had. You will leave this course knowing more than you can ever imagine. Yes, it is a hard course, and yes, you will have to spend a lot of time reading her notes over and over, but I promise, this woman is the real deal. She will make you understand biology better than any else can.

Marie is a good professor who cares about her students. The course is somewhat difficult to follow if you haven't taken Biology past Grade 10, but Marie is very approachable and more than willing to give extra help and explanation.

Do not take this course unless you have a strong background in biology and actually want to learn about the human genome. So incredibly difficult and a lot of effort is required. My biggest regret is taking this course. Test material was s hard and not in the slides, don't bother take a soc course instead.

Dr. Killeen is overall a great professor and lovely human being. Lecture attendance is not necessary to do well, but she does repeat "important" information, and you'll find that her tests don't go quite as in-depth as the textbook. Her lectures are really enjoyable, as she has a lot of experience in the field and applies course material.

Dr. Killeen is a very caring, sweet professor. She wants all her students to do well, so she makes sure to check on them throughout her lectures. Tests are fairly easy if you understand the content. Lecture info comes from the textbook but it isn't required to do well in the class. Overall she is a wonderful prof.

She is a really kind and fair prof, and made this elective really fun for me, though I was late a few times (several occasions). Everything was fair, but practice questions or multiple choice would be recommended for this class, as not all the MC you do on the tests and quizzes you will remember from the lecture/slides. Very fun class to be in.

Although this is a liberal, the class is quite difficult. If you are not from a science background you will have to put in extra work. There is no specific textbook for the course but she does recommend one, if you go to the lectures and pay attention you won't even need the book.

Once upon a time I wanted to become a doctor, not anymore. She took all my passion for biology and stepped on it. LONG and BORING lectures. She goes 100mph on every lecture but we are still behind most of the time. Get ready for no breaks, cause thats what she does. 2 hours of non stop biology. She has no enthusasim teachiing the course. WORST PROF

I think she was an excellent prof. She does go through all the info quite fast but she is also super thorough about it. She also tell you extra information so you can understand how the concept is in line with the bigger perspective. She explains everything very clearly and in great detail. If you go to her lectures then you're set.

She is a very nice, fair and helpful prof. She is very knowledgeable about of the content and can answer any questions asked. However, you need to love biology to do well in this course. Textbook is not at all needed. Just attent her lectures as she explains very well!

She is very intelligent, she knows what shes talking about, and really cares about the students. She can be serious, so do not fool around in her class because she will call you out! Anatomy (for nursing) is hard. I suggest to read the textbook and add unto to the slides already given, just add more notes for your clarity. Read or you wont do well

She's an amazing teacher and advocate for nursing students. There is a lot of content in this course, so attend class (make notes - she tends to repeat major concepts; grab a coffee). Go through her powerpoints make note of processeskey ideasconcepts then go to the textbook and read in depth about them (read Jarvis too for help with basics).

Worst teacher I've ever had. Boring class. Hard to understand. Says words wrong. Rude and unfriendly. Goes way too quickly through the power points. Doesn't explain the content. She just reads off the slides. Excruciatingly boring lectures.

Marie was a good teacher but with a Biology backround teaching a bunch of students that took the course not offered to Science or Engineering students, I feel like she didn't explain enough or didn't test our knowledge enough to help us better for the midterm or exam. And the paper we had to write was downright stupid. Good thing I like genetics.

Considering that she teaches Anatomy and Physiology Marie is great at making class interesting. I found myself laughing in her class quite a bit and she does try very hard to make content engaging. The subject matter is complicated and you should read your text but attending class and paying attention will benefit you greatly.
