Comment:

My favourite thing about Professor Orr is that she very obviously loves what she's teaching. Her lectures can be a little dry, but if you can get over her soft voice and minor quirks, she's actually quite lovely. She's very helpful and also a very fair marker.

Comment:

I didn't mind her vocal ticks I thought they made her unique and they were amusing. She is a tough marker and sometimes I questioned if she actually marked tests because your mark doesn't change much even if you do improve. She is extremely helpful and willing to meet up with students to discuss assignments. This is no bird course, very heavy load.

Easy to talk to? Absolutely!! An absolute pleasure outside of class, and a great help. Getting used to her vocal ticks? NOT EASY!! I wanted to shoot myself everytime she said "you know" and "eh". It is not easy to get used to. If you can get by the "ticks" then take the class - if not...then don't.

Overall a good prof. A lot of work, but what else would you expect in an English class? Can sometimes get anal about the readings (coming from a student that didn't do 1/2 of them), but you can absolutely get by without reading everything. I got 80s and did 1/2 the work. Very approachable prof

One of the best profs in LU English Dept. SO helpful, she'll talk to you for hours about your essay and very helpful, friendly and understanding. Fair marker. Very inspiring! Created interest in me where there once was none! And quite funny at times.
