Love Professor Blizard, he cares even when he tells you you need to work harder he is a good mentor. I do not have architecture background and regardless, he is patience and supportive. He will help you any way he can. He is not walk in the park he expects you to work hard and improve eventually.

His class is strictly a lecture class and thats exactly what he does. 50% of your grade is taking Good notes so keep up with that. The rest of your grade comes from taking quizes(writing) which are hard, because he wants a specific answer. If you do not put what he wants to hear he has no problem failing you!

It's a class that demands time, no doubt, as long as you have a mind, thoughts and willing to put in the effort you'll do great. I would probably have stayed in Arch. if all professors were like him.If you have the pleasure of being in his class, absorb all you can and never sell his book.

Be prepared to work hard! One of those classes where you get out of it exactly what you put into it. He is very strict and moves fast but if you survive you will realize that you learned a lot! Teaches you how to think more than you thought possible.

Mark is either a terror to his students or the ultimate enabler. Only think with a pen in your hand and think all the time. Zero tolerance for BS, but will ride to the moon with you if you are willing to put your heart in your work.

GREAT professor, do not expect to get easy grades from him. he can tell very easy when you are working hard or not. Work hard and let him know that, even if you don't come up with the perfect design he'll reward you for your effort

This class is not easy, and you have to be open minded. With some allnighters or work everyday in this class and then some. He is NOT hard to communicate with and is intimidating in class. But if you survive its well worth it.

this guy is extremely rigid to the point of being an absolutist and an elitist. i'm not sure how someone gets to this position in life but i'm glad I no longer forced to read his pretentious little book anymore.

This class will let you know if you belong, he brings up many points and views, opening up architecture to those that don't really know what they're getting into. Some embrace it and some don't, but that's not blizard's fault. As a teacher, hes as captivated and intelligible as they come, he'll go FAR out of his way to help you, you need only ask.

Great proffesor! I am glad to have taken his classes both here and overseas. Most people rate him according to the material difficulty but then again most people dont take the time to understand and comprehend the importance of what he is lecturing.

I think that Mr. Blizard gives very interesting lectures. The class is not about your personal opinions, though, unless you keep them in your entries. Yes, it is difficult to wrap your mind around the material, but it does enrich your thinking & helps you become a more well-rounded person. If you're not ready for hard work take this class at SAC.

Be aware to work hard and be sure you stay on schedule because once you fall off, it's hard to recover back. overall he is an awesome teacher and you will learn alot from him. He really opens your mind into a new deminsion of thinking.

I sensed that the professor earnestly wants to appear larger than the material he professes to teach. I for one, was discouraged to continue his class but not discouraged to want to be an architect. Go with what you feel!

I personally like Prof. Blizard because he's very energetic and humorous in his lectures, and he has a notable passion for the subject matter, but take his and other students' advice in keeping up with the work in class. I learned that the hard way, and now I have to catch up all the way from the beginning of the year. Difficult, but rewarding.

I had him for 2 Studios, not Arch & Culture. Demanded a lot, especially individual thought. Those who didn't get along typically couldn't or wouldn't think for themselves. His enthusiasm could be infectious, and invigorate those who were struggling. Critique comments were typically insightful, if a bit convoluted. He isn't for everyone.

There is very little doubt in my mind that Arch. & Culture is the College of Architecture's way of weeding people out of their program. If you are unsure about a major in architecture, you will very well know by the end of this class whether or not it's for you. Blizard is a radical thinker, and if you want to pass, you'd better become one, too.

no idea what i was getting into. make sure that architecture is really what you want to do. DO NOT GET BEHIND IN THE READING. i was smart and started working on the final submission early october and didn't have to cram like everyone else. despite failing the 1st submission i still got a B overall. after that long semester, i switched majors
