I took 8 Great Issues in Science with Bollman, and this is the second honors class I have had. I definitely preferred his gambling class because the labs in this class were killer. The papers are long and he is strict on grammar, but he is straight forward. You don't have to read every day, but you need to contribute to the conversation.

Bollman is a really cool professor. Our class was about gambling, and he is definitely passionate about the subject. You don't necessarily need to read for every discussion day. Just make sure you read for the day you are discussion leader. Lots of papers, and the labs can be tough, but just go ask him for help.

He is an okay teacher if you understand math. For people who struggle, definitely go to his office hours. He was a little intimidating at first but he is funny and always wears red tennis shoes. His office is filled with basically every calculator!
