He drifts away from economics and swims in a world of his own.Terrible teacher, terrible communication techniques, talk solely about the fact that he hates his brother, hates milk and love beer. Oh, and he has a thing for BC ferries i would assume. Avoid at all costs, i got ripped off, he should be fired ASAP...Simply disgusted when i think of econ

Mark is ready to retire, and rather than making the last few years of his career meaningful, he seems content to put in the very minimum level of effort necessary to call it a career. It's sort of sad really, he's got a lot of potential - obviously a smart guy.

ABSOLUTELY TRAGIC!! Avoid at all costs. Not at all interested in teaching. Refused to answer emails, respond to voicemails. Does not care if you need help. Dropped his class, ate the money and the text. Consider that 51 people before me took the time to sit down and rate this professor. Fyi, got an A in micro from another prof.

Mark is not for the feint of heart. I would certainly not recommend him for anyone who has never taken an economics course before, as he teaches like you know the stuff already. But for those of us who do, its great to have a highly experienced and qualified professional opinion. Thinking of making economics a career? Mark has the connections.

Mark is a teacher you have to get used to. I found his lectures interesting and amusing especially when he went off topic. His midterm/final were a easy if you listened to his lectures and read the text. Though don't ask him for help, he wont do it. But overall great teacher

He doesn't really have notes that you can write down. If you copy down what he writes on the board then you'll find yourself at exam time looking at a notebook of graphs that mean nothing to you. If you take his class I suggest learning strictly from the text. You'll be doing this anyway.

I think he is a very smart/nice guy, but not the best teacher. Tests are too easy compaire to what we should know... does'nt equip class with knowledge for final. Each question out of 6.67, no one gets full marks!

He knows some stuff about the topic, but can't teach.. his exams are very good, not hard. It would be very good to take classes from him if there was no final. As he can't teach and as the final is prepared with some other profs, it is definitely hard. Avoid.

Very intelligent man, Very very intelligent.... NOT CUT OUT FOR TEACHING. You need to read the textbook to learn it yourself but Mark's thoughts and ideas are right/wrong. He Comes in (NO HELLO) just starts leaturing about BC ferries and how the price of beer works. Mid term is 0-5 each essay question without reasoning. RUN FAR AWAY!!!!!!!

BRUUUUUUUUUTAL. Does not explain assignments -oh, wait, haven't had one yet! Graded on one mid-term, one assignment, and a final exam worth 50% of mark. Take this class and you will talk about BC Ferries, Q sub C, P sub E, and try to figure out what the hell he's talking about. Text book was for upper econ class/students, not this 200 level one

If you're looking to do a minimal amount of work, but still receive a decent mark....take this class. He is a fair marker and his test questions are usually pretty easy. Plus, you will always know exactly what to expect on the midterms, no surprises. I am so glad that I had him from both micro and macro.

His test are marked ridiculously hard-each question worth 6 2/3 of a mark or something silly. And nobody gets the extra 2/3, and I agree about the right wing capitalism and the separating of social and economic issues, but it is economics-what do you thing it's gonna be?

This guy thinks that we should just keep on cutting the trees and building sweatshops because it is good for the economy. He says that social/political issues are not related to economics! He's small-minded, unapproachable, and a good example of the people/mindset who are destroying our planet.
