If you are thinking about studying abroad with this professor, do not!! I would not recommend taking him at Miami either; tough grader, unprofessional, and unprepared. Super disorganized as well. Horrible, absolutely horrible

He was a great professor, and I really enjoyed each lecture. The amount of reading was sometimes strenuous, but the weekly quizzes were never too stressful. He was able to make the material interesting. I highly suggest taking him!

I went to his office hours for help, and rather than offer advice he was just really condescending. The class is SUPER boring and you just talk about the importance of the drape colors for 1.5 hours. He expects you to do a lot of reading in a short amount of time and it's really stressful.

McKinney is a good teacher, I just really didn't like the course itself because it was about graphic novels. This professor is really helpful, though, and very good at writing and helping with papers. He has some high expectations but if you try and do your best, you'll get a good grade. I definitely recommend going to his office hours!

He is an excellent professor who really knows his material. The class contained a LOT of information, but paying attention in class plus a little supplementary studying will result in a good grade. The class was entirely in French, so be prepared for that. And know that this class is hugely focused on the context of the BDs not the BDs themselves

The course itself can be very valuable if you're interested in learning about French current events more than the conversations part. Grades are based on continuning progress in class, an individual presentation, group presentation, 2 exams, and the final. Make sure you pay attention and are prepared or you will be lost. Entirely taught in french.
