Gets off topic easily, basically have to teach yourself. Not an awful grader, try to give as much partial credit as possible

Comment:
Research writing in the context of math makes it a very different RW course from others that are offered. That being said he made it interesting and was more focused on being able to discuss the topic of the paper more than the nit-picky things that an English professor would focus on.

Very helpful teacher. Grade is mainly test based. Class is definitely easier than Calc 2, but still a calculus course so don't expect it to be easy. He is an extremely fair grader and if the class average is lower than it should be he offers you an option to redo the problems you get wrong and get half credit. Just do your best to understand it

Comment:
In Calc II, he kept the class interesting while going over subjects. At times he rambled and was unclear about minor details, but if you use the book as a guide, you'll get an A no doubt. If you show interest, he will be extremely helpful.

Comment:
Dr. McKinzie genuinely cares about the performance of his students. His exams are challenging but fair. He is always willing to help during office hours and he cracks some really cheesy jokes during lectures. Ill be taking as many courses with him as possible over the next two years.

Comment:
Professor has a hard time dumbing down simple calculus concepts as he is extremely intelligent. There are weekly quizzes with questions directly from the homework and a test on each chapter. Lectures get boring because he goes off on tangents and content is unclear. Willing to help whenever. Final exam, and a difficult/time consuming final project.

He is too smart to be teaching this level class. Simple concepts are made unclear. He isn't clear on things and is difficult to follow.

Sometimes tough to learn when he is teaching in front of the class. If you go to him, he will help you. Much better when he is teaching you one on one. If you do read along in the textbook with what he is teaching in front of the class you will do fine.

Boring. Boring. Boring. Maybe it's the fact that the class was Statistics and that's boring in and of itself..So I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Bottom line though, he got his job done and I understood the subject..you just gotta keep your eyes open haha

He's very good at making the arcane theory behind Linear Algebra accessible.. but it's such a tough subject, I'd recommend making sure to read along in the textbook. Very smart, but down-to-earth.
