I wish I had more seminary classes with him. Its funny how he is the professor that I disagreed most, yet he is the professor I learned from the most. It's not the content, but the methodology of studying Scripture. I disagree with some of his conclusions, but the process of studying was a game changer for me. Pastoral and godly man too.

I had Dr. Minnick as a freshman 25 years ago and many of the things I learned from Him have continued to be helpful to me to this day. At that time there seemed to be an unusual holy presence of the Lord that ministered to my heart almost every time I heard the Word of God expounded upon by him. His online sermons have been helpful to me as well.

Comment:
Had Dr. Minnick for several classes b/w 84-89, and he was also my pastor. Would be hard to overstate the godly impact this man had on my life. Taped all of his classes and still in my own ministry listen to them with great spiritual profit. Agree w/ positive comments others have made; negative comments reflect negatively on the student.

Dr. Minnick is perhaps the best expository preacher alive. He is an extremely humble, meticulous student of God's word. The negative ratings reflect more on the student than the professor. Suspending his class was a travesty as it was probably the most helpful of any class in or out of the Bible program.

Principles of Christian Growth was the best class I have ever taken and I would love to audit the course again. I had the privilege of being a member of his church for 5 years. A renowned teacher and world class expositor. He is in high demand all over the world as a Bible teacher. It is an honor to experience his classes and not to be missed.

All I can say about the negative comments on Dr. Minnick is 1 Cor 2:14รข€"the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God. And I might as well add that freshmen can barely receive anything! Minnick was perhaps over a lot of their heads, but no more careful expositor will you find in the world and few more godly, brilliant men.

I came into this class skeptical, but I was in for quite a surprise. Dr. Minnick laid out the life of Christ, especially John's account, in a way that made me feel like I had experienced it. No one has ever opened up the Gospels and made it speak like he did. I wish I could take the class again, because I would get so much more out of it now.

Principles of Christian Growth. This guy was a little weird. "Folks . . . folks, what Bruce is saying here. . . " that phrase was repeated 700 times per period. Definitely has some whack opinions on Scripture. Not sure he is appropriate for a teaching position. If he wants to have a church, that's his business, but why expose all of us students to his bizarre perspective??
