Super nice guy, loves fish! Tests and labs are graded very harshly. Was told Bio110 would be a breeze. Maybe for other profs- Olson is a tough one. You will learn a lot, but your GPA will suffer.

Good professor, explains every concept clearly! Really lecture heavy, we never did any presentations or group work. He likes when you participate but he doesn't cold call people. He grades lab reports very harshly but the exams are graded fairly.

After taking this class and talking to others he is definitely the best professor for BIO110. His tests are not that bad but he does require you to be able to apply what he's taught in class. Labs are pretty boring but he does a good job at making them go by quickly. He also loves fish and is guaranteed to talk about them every single class.

His tests are based on his powerpoints, but CRITICAL THINKING/APPLICATION problems! He's really boring, monotone, you lose him in class, labs = extremely boring and he makes sure they are the exactly 4 hours..

Professor Olson is the man. His lectures are really entertaining and funny. He does a good job of making the labs (which are pretty dumb for the most part) go by quickly. Tests are pretty reasonable. I would highly recommend him.

Very easy class, he's a really nice guy. Lecture is boring but it's not his fault Bio 110 is just in general a crappy class, as a pre-med I'm forced to take it tho so he was the best choice. Also Labs will make you want to kill yourself they are the stupidest things I've ever done in my entire life.

I don't understand why the class is split up between him and his wife - material is very easy but exams are graded strictly to make sure that everyone doesn't ace the elementary material. Class is boring and most people don't attend for that reason.
