Love taekwondo. A good workout and a great way to release academic stress. Never gets boring because there is always something to be improved. The promotion is inspirational. White belt is just a beginning and there is so much more to be learned.

Comment:
Orlove is a good teacher, and a decent guy, but the pace of the course is ridiculously slow. Even those not at all atheletic could have learned his four months of material in just one month. Also, there's way too much focus on Tae-Kwon-Do as a sport, and not enough on Tae-Kwon-Do as an art, or a combat system.

This was a really awesome class. He works you hard, but it does pay off. Just make sure that you show him respect and he will definitely accept you and show it back. This has to be one of the best classes I have ever taken, and the fact I am in such better shape makes it even better. Take it and you'll love it :-D

Went into this class from a different martial art. He recognized my experience and supported me to BB & national tournaments. And he taught me what it was like to have a professor be a mentor and a friend. Finally, the lessons he taught me about how to take criticism and use it to stop whining & improve myself are valuable in my job today.

If you start TKD with him, he'll be nice for a little bit. If you have done TKD before, he won't accept anything that you may have done, and makes fun you in front of everyone if you do something differently. Instead of seeing your knowledge, he concludes that he is immediately right. Incredibly condescending, too.

I study TKD as a martial art so that I can study with Master Orlove. Sessions are dynamic and helpfull. He teaches it as a traditional martial art, which makes it more than just a good work out. What you put in to this is what you get out of it.

Dedicated to your success as long as you are as well, and will clear up any questions if you ask. It's a fun workout, but this is a serious art/sport, so its not all fun and games. $30 for a uniform and an optional $90 test is cheaper than a textbook!

Incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in the art, but occassionally confusing or condescending with students. Higher level belts can feel like studying the art is more of a duty than a fun activity, but the sense of accomplishment is amazing.

Intimidating teaching style and I don't agree with everything he does. His students have gone to compete at national levels. If you want to succeed, he will help you. The testing fees aren't cheap, but are a bargain compared to outside TKD schools.

Many do not appreciate his teaching style, but the words he says are inspirational. Because of him, I'm going to stick with TKD until I have that black belt around my DoBuk. Color is nice, but black is more my style.

It is a good workout. Just watch for the money he wants you to fork out. And, no matter what he says: it is ok not to take the test at the end of the term! what the heck does a different colored belt mean? skill is regarless of belt color

If you show up and do the work you'll pass. But he's very intimidating and is big on the korean stuff. Don't take if you're just looking for self-defense. And he'll manage to make you pay a pretty good amount of money for belt exams and uniforms.

I agree, he is very helpful and wants students to succeed. What annoys me is the Korean lexicon he uses. Then he gets annoyed when people don't respond to commands. I mean, who can remember all those weird sounds?

Good teacher, but very unapproachable and intimidating. Will make fun of you in class if you screw up. And watch out, he will have you spend $30 on a uniform and $90 in test fees to get your orange belt.
