Professor Sullivan is by far one of my favorite professors. He is hilarious and I was never bored or uninterested in a single class. I highly recommend taking this professor, he even gives you 3 unexcused absences. The homework is all analysis papers so if you fully discuss the relationship between the media text and society you are sure to do well

Dr. Sullivan is super knowledgable about all things media and his lectures were always interesting and thought provoking. Class discussions were insightful and they helped me to grow in my compassion as a human being - NOT what I was expecting from a Mass Media & Society Class. Show up, do your work, participate and listen to others good grade

Sullivan is awesome. So funny and relatable. Discussion based lectures where you watch films, TV shows, and music videos to put the topics into context. Would suggest this class a million times over, interesting and a breath of fresh air because of his passion for what he's teaching.

I loved this class. It was very easy, but also very interesting. Sullivan definitely knows his stuff & is really good at facilitating discussion but kind of pretentious because he has a very eclectic taste in music & film. Other than that he's a great professor and this is a great class. It's a fun elective for sure. Take it if you can get into it.

Hands down my fav class and professor yet. The whole class revolves around watching clips every class all class and analyzing them in a discussion. All the papers we do require us to watch certain movies or shows and write about them. Pretty easy, but you should be somewhat of a good writer. No exams either! Got the book but never opened it.

One of the best professors I have had at Towson. This class was so interesting and fun. There are no tests, and we wrote papers on movies, television shows, etc. which weren't bad. He is such a cool guy and knows everything there is to know about music, movies, and other types of media. He even knows about k-pop! TAKE HIM!! You won't regret it!

TAKE THIS CLASS!! Although this class isn't a required class it is extremely interesting! Professor Sullivan digs deep into serious issues in how the media depicts them in society. There are 4 papers and one final paper, no exams. The entire class consists of watching movies, tv shows and listening to songs and reflecting on them.

This class is fun and easy! The assignments are easy and you'll get a good grade as long as you apply yourself. If you thrive in challenging atmospheres, this class may not be for you because it is so easy! But if you like getting music recommendations, take this prof! Awesome and eclectic music taste!

Sullivan is AMAZING! So funny, so witty, always had me laughing. The class goes by so fast! He's one of the best professors. Definitely take it your senior year. You'll need a refreshing class like this one. I learned so much!

Even though Sullivan can be very drastic with his depictions, as long as you explain your own reasoning you're good. His rants are a little frustrating at times but overall very laid back class. You're in for a treat.

This class was one of the most interesting classes I have ever taken. Every week you will either have a paper or notes due on a topic for that week. He does warn u he will fail you without warning for plagiarism. However, he is fair and will let you resubmit the same day if you forget something on your paper. He likes people who speak up in class.

Seriously the best, most interested class ever. Must go, but you'll want to anyway! It hardly feels like you're learning since you mostly just watch movie and TV clips, and listen to music! Five short papers on movies, TV, music so they are easy, and 5 note pages which are even easier. The final is a short paper about basically whatever you want.

EVERYONE should take this class before they graduate from Towson. The material is very compelling and interesting and Professor Sullivan lectures with wit and humor. He's a very easy/fair grader and the course is an easy A. Sit in class, watch clips of movies/tv, listen to music clips, and write a paper every other week. SO EASY!

BEST CLASS EVER! I actually was disappointed when class was cancelled for conferences. The subject matter is very interesting and Sullivan is very knowledgeable about the topics. He encourages discussion and never puts down your opinions regardless of whether or not they align with his liberal politics. Very fair grader. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Great professor and great class! He really knows what he is talking about and seems to like teaching it! Other reviews have talked about him failing students for not citing sources? Well of course, we are in college, we have to cite sources when we use them? Overall fantastic teacher and highly recommended!
