Comment:

Overall great professor. Exams are harder than they need to be. I read each chapter and went to all but 2 lectures and ended with a 88 and he does a 80-89 is a B. Not good at remembering names. Don't really get why exams are weighted more than speeches when class is based on our speeches. If the weighting was switched, I'd probably have an A.

Comment:

Zeigler cares about his students. He makes an effort to get to know students and to connect with them. He has office hours every day of the week and the work he gives is very fair. If you make an effort in the class you will succeed. His class is engaging and entertaining. I cannot recommend this man enough.

Comment:

Good and engaging teacher but tests are much harder than you would expect. I showed up to every class and still struggled with the tests. Make sure to get the book because I found that a lot of the test material was in the book, not actually given in class.

Ziegler is super nice but his exams are actually really hard and not really what you would expect. Only have to give two 5 minute speeches, but really his lectures were hard for me to stay engaged and often times it was just a lot of story telling.

He is hands down the most amazing professor Ive ever taken at FSU. He is funny, engaging, and so smart its insane. Not to mention he is absolutely in love with his school, and he is so involved and easy to talk to. Take him take him take him

Had the pleasure of taking Professor Zeigler as a freshman. An absolutely wonderful educator who ensures that his students will take away at least a few life lessons from the course, while simultaneously nurturing speaking abilities. If in the honors program, take the section with him as the TA. Worth every second.

Zeigler is a very enthusiastic professor and you will never get bored listening to him. He makes you want to come to class to learn. His class is very simple so long as you pay attention. The only qualm I'd have is that he has a terrible time with names, even if he likes you. Can't blame him, considering he has so many students to remember.

Ziegler's lectures are the best, without question. He gives readings in the textbook and the test cover some book material but honestly if you go to all classes and use quizlet you'll be fine. There are two speeches along with a midterm and final. The test are worth more than the speeches but do well on all of them for an A. The class was great.

As other reviews say, this is the BEST professor at FSU. For this class specifically, it is a lot of reading but the books are good reads. 2 papers, 3rd "paper" is a presentation, a midterm, and a take home final. He makes you think of things in new perspectives and the small class size allows for lots of discussion. Highly recommend.

It's a different experience taking Zeigler in a smaller class. You have more opportunities to discuss (literally anything) with him, but since the topics he chooses are so broad, he can go off about his personal life, and the end results are mixed. This class will make you want to read books again, and drastically improve your writing. I recommend.

The reviews ring true and he is a great professor that cares deeply about his students. He does tend to ramble, which makes paying attention hard sometimes. The material is kind of dry since it's theory. His tests come from the material but can still be quite tricky so you really have to study for an A. 3 tests and attendance is mandatory.

Ziegler is a great professor. Do yourself a favor and take this class! Also, go to lecture!! I learned so much in this class that not only helped me in the speech realm, but also in the real world. There are two 5-minute speeches and 2 exams. READ THE TEXTBOOK! It's the difference between an A and a B.

The rare professor that not is only resonant on the personal level , but also instructs in a way that makes going to class both worth it and something to look forward to. Believe the hype. P.S. The subject of the coursework may seem obvious, but tests are still difficult, so study hard if you want the A.

I believe the prior reviews speak to his credibility. Although I have gone to office hours twice, you can truly tell how genuine of a person this man is. Forget about liking this professor based on grades. Get to know this man. The selflessness he protrudes is awe inspiring. He truly cares about his students. I cannot recommend him enough.

Zeigler is probably the best professor at FSU. He's hilarious to listen to and makes the class worth going to (which is required and there is a sign-in sheet to ensure that you actually show up). 10/10 would recommend, please take him, you won't regret it.

Professor Zeigler is probably the best professor I've had a Florida State. If you can get in his class, do it! The only bad thing I have to say is that he really encouraged us to get the textbook, and I have not opened it once. I'm doing great in the class, so the textbook was kind of a waste of money.
