Comment:
Golding was my JD/M.Phil Advisor in '99 & he was the BEST. His teaching style requires you to be prepared & responsible. "Kids" will be frustrated. He's CARING & erudite. Those who criticize him are likely the "kids" who should have gone to UNC. I miss him & his classes terribly. You will appreciate him more as time goes on. I miss him terribly.

This is not a very demanding class. Golding is a very funny guy, but he talks very softly and tends to ramble during his lectures, which have no slides. Make sure to meet with the TA before turning in papers.

Comment:
Not one of the better professors here. Too many digressions, not accessible/helpful, never graded student work. He also just talked the whole time without any lecture slides or organization. Readings sometimes useless and overly theoretical. Assignments overly restrictive and random. Avoid if possible.

Golding is great. Not for everybody, but is a very funny and interesting lecturer. Gets of topic a lot and lectures dont really have focus, but definitely worth taking his class.

If you aren't really interested in learning anything about morals and ethics, then take this class. Golding is a nice guy, but he doesnt spend much time preparing for the class. There was usually no discussion and if you ever gave an opinion on something, he would say you were wrong. AWESOME BOOK but the class wont further your intellect

He's simply amazing. Not the easiest grader, but the classes are fantastic (as long as you're interested in the subject matter). The only grades are 700-word essays, which make sense knowing he's in the Law School. Honestly, though, he's fantastic. Highly reccomended.

750 word papers are not philosophy papers, they're memos. This class should be in PPS. Famous though, for what that's worth, and a nice guy.

Fascinating. Reasonable expectations during basketball season (prefers watching b-ball to grading papers!). Deep thinker, funny professor. Forgets he's in seminar and starts lecturing anyway.
