Dr. Newman is a really inspiring professor. Sometimes he is unclear about what he wants from assignments, but he will explain just about anything for you if you ask him. He's wonderful, I love having class with him!

Really great professor. Very understanding with absences...I was really sick in the beginning of the semester and missed 4 days. Dr. Newman was very sympathetic and helped me catch up. His stories are amazing...he's seen and done a lot in his life. I would advise anyone to take his class.

death and dying: great class, great teacher. More than reasonable on grades. This class met once a week, 2 1/2 hours long and i never found my self counting the seconds. very organized and a great speaker. Does not expect too much from the readings. take the class, you will be glad you did

This professor is very inspirational, and one of the best teachers I have ever had. Most college students are just lazy and do not understand why they do not get A's for doing nothing. Doctor Newman does not care if you do not agree with him, he only cares that you get involved. He will always play devils advocate to make you think analytically.

His classes are pretty interesting regardless of what you're taking, though Death and Dying is by far his most popular. His work as an attorney yields many real-life, relevant stories to use as examples. I'd say there's a fairly high volume of reading involved, but it's not too bad.

Took every class he taught. Best teacher by far. Def. has his favorites but do the work and you will be one. If you are planning on law school (that's where I am now), the most helpful classes possible. He is really great with law school admissions.
