Marwan is great at making you care about what he's teaching. It is kind of hard to understand what he is saying some of the time, but he will always answer clarification questions.

Marwan is easily the best teacher I've ever had. He encouraged us to learn and forget about grades. He challenged us and cared about our success in our class. I had a very weak background in science and he made this class fun and interesting. He's passionate and funny and I wish all teachers were like him. He really cares about students.

Overall a funny guy who does what he can with boring material. Mostly, he just reads off of the powerpoint slides in class. DO NOT fall asleep in lecture - he will notice you and poke fun of you in front of the class or ask you spontaneous questions.

Heavy accent so make sure to pay attention during class. He doesn't use the textbook much so make sure you go to class and pay attention to the slides. He sometimes asks tricky questions in class, but don't be scared, they're not hard. He is very nice and tries to be funny, which he is mostly successful at. I liked him a lot.

He spoke very fast, and sometimes he was very hard to understand. He randomly decides to ask questions of the class during lecture. if you weren't listening carefully don't try to answer. STUDY YOUR DIAGRAMS. in the exam he asks for very detailed pictures ( and lots of them).

Work hard on the labs, because his exams can be quite tricky and long, make sure you spend time studying and going over ALL the slides, he does ask you to draw detailed diagrams. Rocks and rivers aren't really my thing, I would say GEOB102 was much more engaging, personally.

He is knowledgeable, and he seems like a nice guy, but the accent makes it somewhat...okay very hard to concentrate on what he is actually saying. When he says "velocity" and "floow" I find it hard to not laugh. Other than that the course is straightforward. The midterm multiple choice q's are overly confusing though.

Comment:
He posts the power point on the course website but he leaves out some information to make sure you come to class. He goes way too fast to keep up to write the notes by hand; this leaves the only option of printing off the notes before hand and trying to find the missing notes from the website. If it wasn't for the lab, my mark would be lower.

Hassan is passionate about his subject. He tries to make lectures fun, and clearly cares about helping his students do well. However, this cannot make up for the fact that he is extremely monotonous, and that not only is his accent thick, but he often uses words incorrectly, which, when dealing with precise equations, can be extremely confusing.

He's a good guy and is very knowledgeable in the field, but I think he's a bit lacking teaching-wise. He is not very clear when he explains the material (and that has little to do with his accent) and the exam was a bit tricky for me; it only appeared straightforward AFTER the answers were posted...

His accent is hard to understand but he's a nice guy. He starts with.. "emm, good morning". I feel like I learned a lot in his class, and some classes were very interesting. He tried to make the class (which a lot of people take just for the Science requirement) very human and less sciency by using real world examples and consequences.

he knows the material well but..man i really had a hard time understanding. when i was in class, i felt i was focusing more on translating the sentences into understandable english in my head than actually listening to what he was trying to explain since his accent was so heavy. However, i thought his test was pretty fair.

He has a good heart and is very helpful and accomodating if you ask. However, his accent is difficult to understand which makes it hard if you are not very good at geography to begin with. The final was not too hard and very fair.

Obviously interested in the subject matter, but couldn't convey that to the class. Lectures were basically a repetition of the online notes, and monotonous to boot. The accent also takes some getting used to. I'm sure he's a great researcher, but is lacking as a prof.

good prof. helpful in office hours. He encourages discussion by supplying cookies and donuts in order wake up the grey matter in the morning. Interesting course content, but a huge amount of notes (slides are posted before class)
