Comment:

I took this class two years ago and it was by far my most difficult class I took in undergrad. Now I'm taking neuro in my graduate SLP program and I see that everyone else in my program is very confused but I am overly prepared. Dr A expects a lot from you and her course covers a LOT of information, but it's very helpful later.

Comment:

Very reasonable course. Professor offers extra credit, review sessions, study guides, reviews exams, offers office hours, TA office hours. Course is stimulating. You don't study, skip class, you won't do well. Tests require you solve problems, not all memorization. Not like other courses in major-you get your money's worth in this one plus more!

This class is mandatory for comdis majors, so I feel a review isn't necessary. However, it annoys me that there are good reviews here so I felt like writing one. She is literally the worst. She took a really interesting subject and made it miserable. There is not enough space here to even write about how much I passionately dislike this woman.

Comment:

I love neuro, and realize its a very dense and information loaded study. Dr. A is loves the material, BUT despite what people say it is not easy to get an A. She does not curve, scale or factor in how the students are doing into her raw grades. 4 exams that contain a serious amount of neuro and her TA is pretentious. Wish she spread the coursework.

Professor exceptional. Offers review sessions for all exams, studyguides, office hours, accessible. Can get an A + do well, but you have to work for it. Uses problem solving + critical thinking questions. Very fair grader, offers bonus questions/points. Don't expect to be spoon fed. Upper level class, material is appropriate. I got an A no problem!

Her expectations are out of control. You ask one question and she rants for 15 minutes from one topic to the next and you wind up more confused then when you first began. 4 exams. THATS IT. easier to fail than it is to pass. I worked above and beyond and still did not do well. she had 1 office hour a week, no TA and over 70 students. many failures

I loved this class! It's a challenge, but it's an upper level class and it met my needs. Prof stated class mean is an 85 (S.D.=10). This seems real fair and pretty good to me. UMass needs more classes like this. This is not a fluff-a-nutter course. It taught me how to be a critical thinker.

She knows her stuff, loves teaching and is really passionate about it, but I think she has unrealistic expectations for the amount and depth of information we should know for a test. Sometimes she can be confusing with what material is tested. Got an A- but had to work harder than ever for it.

Her name was mis-spelled as "Adrianopolis", so now there are two names for this prof on Rate-My-Professor. This professor is great and really cool. Great class, somewhat tough but its manageable if you go to class and study! Very helpful.
