Professor Hansen is by far the most caring professor I have come around. Don't be afraid of her, talk to her! She's nice! I've learned more about myself in this class than any other! If you take Econ 200, prepare for exams to be big part of grade. You'll do well if watch her videos, textbook, go to class, & office hour. SI & TA are very helpful.

Prof Hansen is quick to reply to emails for her online class and her TA was very helpful. I would recommend her. I liked her knowledge her videos were when paired with the textbook.

She does not teach and is very condescending. You learn everything from the textbook and class is only used for asking questions from the homework and even then, she does not explain anything well at all. Her YouTube videos are pointless. If you can learn formulas and applications of them out of the textbook and nothing else, then you'll do fine.

Coming from a student that got an F in the giant Lecture Version of this Class I was scared to take this class again. However Prof. Hansen made grasping the concepts so easy. The class has hw, practice problems, and three tests (all of which are in class on your computer). The first test we were able to get a boost on our grade from an assignment.

DO NOT TAKE HER!!! Her youtube videos are useless as well as her office hours. She speaks to you in a condescending tone and truly does not know how to help her students. Although it was nice only having class once a week, I would rather go twice a week and have a different professor. Also, she only gives you a day and a half to complete homework.

I took this class as a hybrid course so half of it was watching Professor Hansen's videos online and I loved it. She made the material so clear and easy to understand and I only had to show up once a week. I didn't even have to take the final because I got an A on the first two tests. As long as you watch the videos you will pass and learn a lot.

Hansen is one of the most committed professors I have had at AU. She is always available to Skype or meet in person at office hours. I took a hybrid version of her class and would recommend. Tests are online and so is all homework and practice problems. Uses class time to answer questions and work on problems with groups. Definitely a great choice!

So, I took this class Online. I never took an Online class, so no idea what to expect. Syllabus was pretty candid and there were no surprises. Honestly do not know how she teaches in class, but her online structure was pretty well prepared. Read the textbook and tests are not bad. If you want to take Econ over summer online, she's a good choice.

The class itself is not hard as long as you read the book because she is very unhelpful. She is mean and then tries to laugh it off. Don't mistake her for a nice lady; she isn't. Class is boring and she reads off the Power Points. Awful to endure.

She is a good teacher and holds students accountable. If you do as you are told and put in decent effort, you will do well in her class. I commend anyone who can conduct a class of over 200 people.

This woman, although so kind, is the worst teacher I have ever had. She makes no effort to be helpful, you can't understand a word she says, and she chooses TAs who are almost worse than her at teaching microeconomics. Although I put in a middle amount and got a pretty good grade in the class, don't take her. DON'T.

The class is a basic gened. Take notes, do the homework and study for the exams and you'll do fine. I did terrible in Macro and hate Econ, but I did fairly well in her class. I never went to the TA sessions, it's not bad if you just pay attention in class.

She's fine, but if you're in a big lecture, expect one of the many TAs to be teaching most of the material. She goes fast through slides, but tests are fair if you study. Do the APLIA, even though it's insane. Personality wise, she's very nice.

While I personally didn't have too many problems with her, as economics just makes sense for me, many people who I know who are not econ-minded who did very poorly in this class. They studied hard and failed, partially because she doesn't always go over the stuff that's on the tests in class. In short, not a teacher for non-econ minded students.

She is a good teacher, but you do a lot of self-teaching. She is really there to just help you understand the concepts better, but you have to learn them first on your own by reading the book.

I can see where both sides of these opinions are coming from--she is a bit crazy, but she knows what she's doing, and if you care enough to learn econ, she's helpful and a great professor. Easy to blow off the class and not do well, as she expects her students to be self-directed. In class activities are fun and helpful, though.

Most days class seemed like a waste of time: had no structure and consists mainly of Hansen working out examples or answering students questions. However, none of the material covered in class related to exams. To do well on exams, one must read and study the textbook and not rely on class to help. We dropped our lowest exam grade, though.
