Comment:

She lectures the entire time and barely finished her sentences because she'll start mumbling or go off topic toward another irrelevant history topic, so my lecture notes are not that helpful with the midterm and final, which revolve around what she is supposed to say. Her grading is so hard regarding grammar, I felt like I was in a writing class.

It was a lot of work for a gen ed. The tests are all short answer and she expects a paragraph each, just describing whatever term she throws at you. There are no powerpoints or visual aides, so if you don't write down exactly what she says, you're kinda screwed. I still got a good grade and she has very interesting stories though

If you're interested in history, take Prof. Loe! I took her 150 class also, and was amazed at how she had an answer to every question, had intense and interesting personal stories (just get her started on Russia), and just knew so much in her lectures. But if you don't like history , you may get bored. Graded on a final, midterm, and research paper

Comment:

She's a decent professor. Lectures can get realllllyyy dry. It is a lot of note taking. There aren't any tests other than a midterm and final. She is very passionate about history and has experienced a lot so her stories are fascinating. Just be prepared for long papers and identifications.

Extremely good gen ed 4 papers and a midterm and final(non cumulative). You do have to study but I barely studied for the final and got an A. Same with like 3 of the papers. Also nice- an A is only a 90. Her lectures are great because she's been through so much- civil rights movement, lived in Moscow during the Soviet Union. Definitely recommend

Dr. Loe is a very knowledgeable teacher. Lecture-style classes, a research paper, two tests, and participation constitute your grade. Ask her any questions about Russia and its history and she is more than likely to know the answer!

Dr. Loe is an amazing woman who has seen it all. Her stories are legendary and she has been alive and participated in many historical events. Her lectures drag on for awhile and she gets off topic a lot, but it's somewhat interesting. 12-15 page term paper, but I did it the day before and still got a B+. Only a midterm, final, and 4 current events.

This class isn't too bad, but be wary of it. She lectures during class then you're supposed to read the textbook on the chapter she is discussing. It's impossible to take notes, but she gives a study guide for her two tests. Tests are short answer but aren't too bad, easy grader and interesting person. Take it if you're into history.

Dr. Loe is amazing! She has the best stories and has done some pretty cool things in her life!!!!! The class work consists of 4 current event newspaper reviews (1 pg), a midterm (short answer), midterm essay (5 pg max), a term paper (12-15 pg), and a final. Lots of discussion and movies. Would DEFINITELY take again!!!

Incredibly easy when taken online. I feel like she invented things to grade harshly though, discussion boards for example, I got an 85 on one because I used the wrong "there" but still made it out with a good grade and the class was so laid back I almost forgot I even had this class a few times.

She is insanely knowledgable and has actually been at a ton of important events in American history. Has 2 exams (midterm and final), each with a paper and short answer questions, and two papers on current Human Rights events. Attendance is mandatory. Professor Loe's class was very interesting! She genuinely wants everyone to succeed and she is very clear about what you need to do to get a good grade! Extremely nice and flexible about missing class if you are sick! I would definitely recommend.

Amazing professor! Her lectures are interesting and filled with personal life stories to illustrate it better, and it's also fairly easy to get an A. You just have to study for the Midterm and the Final (which are not multiple choice but rather defining terms and also include essays) and to write three papers. Definitely recommend.

Greatest teacher i've had. stories of ghandi, MLK, and many other inspirational individuals. She has been through it all and has stories from her experiences in the civil rights movement and living in the USSR. 3 papers a midterm and a final make up your grade and she's more interested in getting you to understand importance of history. Wow great professor! Easily one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met and has lots of personal stories directly related to what she's teaching. Easy grader. Essay for final. I want to take her other classes just because she is so incredibly intelligent and knows so much about everything! Down to earth. Definitely recommend.
