Excellent instructor - unlike some other instructors I've had, who for the most part are "just sit down and draw," Mary is always giving helpful advice on layout and drawing technique. I agree with the other posts that she's great for beginners, although she's great for advanced students as well.

Comment:

Mary sets a very relaxing environment to draw and always gives useful feedback by pointing out both positives and areas of improvement as well. She is really good at teaching simple basic techniques to beginners. I highly recommend her, especially to those who have been scared about drawing.

I had no experience with figure drawing and did know where to start if asked to draw the figure(or anything else). After this class, I am amazed at what I am able to draw and how well. Mary is very patient, and really works with each student. Highly recommend taking her class if you are a newbie like me. She has a good process for drawing that work

I took her creative sketch class. Definately a fun class. Shes a very nice lady and easy to talk to. Shes not strict at all, but she grades by the book. If you dont do your hw you get docked points, and theres homework every week. Fun class and teacher if your looking for a laid back class to just create whatever you want in your sketch books.

Great lady...not necessarily nice, because she wants you to work and not make any excuses for not doing what's expected of you, but very respectful and attentive...still says Hi to me in the hallways by name. Taking the class was not only therapeutic, as most of the time you draw and improvise on whatever she's asked of you, but, I learned a ton
