Comment:
Lectures often disorganized without specifics on interesting objects. She is utterly unclear on what material is significant however expects it on the tests. Students remain isolated from learning the importance. When asked, she would answer in very offensive manner. She can be really harsh, RUDE, unapproachable and intimidating.

Comment:
Three assignments make up entire grade. First two are very early in the class. It doesn't make sense, and before you know it you're behind. The lectures are interesting, but she never mentions assignments or what is important to remember during her lectures. Take the class for no credit.

Comment:
The material is interesting, but she is pretty bland and makes it boring. The biggest issue I see is her not emphasizing what material is important. She says a lot isn't, then puts it on a test. She doesn't provide a lot of information that she expects to see on tests. She's rude sometimes, not approachable.

Marilyn was a great professor, and was always willing to help if you were willing to ask for it. She also took a great interest in students who were eager to learn about topics outside of the curriculum, lending books from her personal collection and the like. A very interesting person.

Show up and pass is right. The material is interesting, but she manages to make class so boring. It's clear she's not focused on teaching, but on research. I got an A+ while missing many classes and handing in assignments late - that shouldn't happen.

Comment:
Material was interesting, but the class was not engaging. Not interaction just lecture, unfortunately because it's not a large class. Readings for assignments were not in course pack as indicated on syllabus, which made getting assignments done frustrating. Seems she spends more time writing books than on teaching.

She is by far, the worst professor I have ever had. She is unfriendly, unwilling to help and frankly rude. Waste of time.

Very unimpressed. Blunt and banal. Does not offer enough projects through the year to balance percentage. Knows her stuff and speaks to you as if you're expected to know it all, too. Stiff and kinda ****y. No more of her classes for me!

Sharp wit and straight up approach not for everyone, but always fair if you do your part. Especially open to project based term assignments which is not possible in many history classes.
