Professor Darrough does not help to make things easier for cost accounting nor does her low enthusiasm and boring tone. Workshops and textbook will help way more than her lectures.

In my opinion, Cost acc class is the hardest class form any other acc classes. Professors are trying to give you as much as they can. Departmental exams are more challenging compare to HW or even SACC practices. Therefore, need to practice every single day and make sure to read the material. Prof. Darrough is a nice, kind person.

This class is hard in general and she does not make it any more easy. Mostly reads straight from slides and does not explain problems very well. I would recommend you attend workshops and study and practice A LOT. 2nd time taking the class and ended up with a A- when i thought i would get a B- , curve pushed me up A LOT so don't drop for low grade

Terrible, just like every other professor who teaches Cost. Her examples make you feel like you know everything. Just wait till you see the tests. Do well on first 2 midterms, final is killer. Everything departmental. Do not take her unless this is your 2nd or 3rd time taking Cost. She will not help you understand anything. Go to SACC workshops!

It was really funny when she was complaining about how everyone was using the ACC workshop method instead of her method. Maybe if you taught better, people would actually use your method. She tries to be authoritative, but nobody listens to her. If there's a workshop, go to one lesson, get access to the google drive, and practice problems there.

In any cost accounting class, you will be the one responsible for teaching yourself the material. She answers email very quickly but as for as teaching - not great at all

Cost Accounting is arguably the toughest class in Baruch with over half the students dropping or failing. Averages for the first departmental exam barely scratched 50. My suggestion is to not learn from any professor in Baruch since they clearly aren't doing their job well. Google is the best tutor you can ask for!

The class is challenging but I found it easier to understand with the prof explanation. She does it well at explaining. Just remember to do practice problems and you'll do just fine.

2 Midterms and 1 final are all departmental that you should really really work hard to get through. Professor Darrough teaches the very basic concepts of the material that are far much easier than the actual tests. This class is all about practice.

I don't think she's a bad professor. The exams are just impossibly hard. Just do A LOT of practice problems, and you'll be fine.

Don't waste your time with this professor unless your taking it for the second time. Does not help students and computes your scores as raw scores without the curves. Does not help students at all. Easy examples in class which will NOT help you on the exams.

Here's the key: Practice Exams! If you do enough of those you'll eventually get a hang of the concepts. She's a pretty decent teacher, but if you only go off her class lessons be prepared to get nothing higher than a C/C-. I got a B in cost accounting and it was purely a result of teaching the material to myself via practice exams.

I took her class only bc my registration was so late. she was so nice. she only allowed a few questions in class but was variable after class. she had her own ways of teaching which i liked and easy to understand but you also needed to develop your own thinking as well. Overall i think she is good, but dont like her review section before exam

Her class is so much easier then the exams. She will not prepare you for the exams so unless you can thoroughly teach yourself the materials, don't take her. Her problems are so much easier. Take another professor if you can because so many people dropped from her class. I took Tom after i dropped her class and passed with flying colors.

She is a nice person but niceness won't help you on the exam. I took her class last semester and got a 40% on the first exam. Now I'm taking Vandevoort, took my first exam and got a 95%. She reads the slides and doesn't really explain anything. Not recomended. If there is no space available in other classes you'd rather wait for next semester.

Problems covered in class (and homework) is rather easy compared to actual exam. Other than that, a good professor. She is clear, and her lecture is helpful for understanding concepts. You just have to practice a LOT to pass this course. Knowing hw to solve hw questions isn't enough for exam questions.

Worst professor for cost accounting. Doesn't know how to teach, just reading off the slides is not what you're getting paid for.you will not pass this hard class with her, she is no help. Even if the class average is around 60, she doesn't care. Monotone voice, wouldn't recommend her to anyone. Department exams are really hard

As a person, she is great and if you ask a question, she's willing to respond it. The problem is not her, but unfamiliarity of concept and need of many hours to practice. I screw up final because of huge amount of course work so I couldn't focus on cost. Seriously, you should not judge professor base on your grade.
