Comment:

No textbook, but purchasing the notebook with lecture slides is highly recommended. Really nice and caring professor who takes time to know everyone by name. He is VERY clear about his grading criteria, and gives students more than enough opportunities to improve their grade via extra credit and participation points.

Comment:

Matt Ebiner is my fave prof at El Camino. He's been to over 150 countries, so taking him for world regional geography was an optimal decision. Almost all of the photos in his power point slides have been taken by him on his travels and he usually has a funny story to go with it. His notes are easy to follow,& he's very passionate about his subject!

My favorite professor! I want to take his another classes again maybe at next Spring semester. For me his class is so easy, very interesting lectures based by his personal experiences which makes it easy to learn information about another countries. I love to do maps. If you can do maps in class during lecture, there is no homework.

Not the class for an easy A, but an A is totally doable! Make sure you take good notes in class as it's the small details in lecture that will be showing up on exams. Study his slides and memorize the maps he hands out. As a heads up, there's a lot of coloring and his honors section has an additional project. Super engaging prof.

Professor Ebiner's class is an odd one. It is actually quite more difficult than I expected and the tests asks questions based off the slightest of details in the powerpoint. Overall though, he really loves what he is doing and I learned so much about the world.

Its fun to see photos that he has taken traveling the world and to listen to the stories. Concerning difficulty, I really dont understand why everyone doesnt get an A. Easy tests and simple homework...

Mr. Ebiner is a really good teacher! This class is based on the lecture so if you don't get the notes, you will have a very hard time on the tests. The tests come straight from the notes so it is quite a bit of memorization. This class is tough but if you put in the effort, listen during lecture, and study you will be able to pass the class.

Professor Ebiner is the best prof. I've had. I loved all his classes. He's kind, has great stories, & knows what he's talking about. His classes really inspire you to explore the world. All the information is in power points, but he will tell you to write more/not just whats in the p.p. so pay attention! Tests can be tricky, so study hard/show up.

Mr. Ebiner is really one of a kind, he's made this one of my favorite classes by far. Try not to miss days- he lectures every class, so if you don't go you'll miss a lot of information. Study, study, study!!! The tests are lecture heavy, so make sure to pay attention in class. His stories and enthusiasm really make you look forward to class.

Love this class so much! It's not all about learning where places are but the people who live in those places and Prof Ebiner has seen in all. He always has a great story to tell about his travels. Definitely have to take his class if you ever get the chance. Study for the tests because they can be tricky!

Matt E. is a very good lecturer. He is Smart, experience, captivating; however, his tests are artificially hard for Geo. I've taken 3 of his classes only 5 students got an A and you can tell a lot of his tests are tricky. It's almost as if he is trying to validate Geography an inflate the trickiness of the tests. Professor Ebiner is awesome! His lectures are very interesting. You will learn a lot of interesting things. All tests are based on lectures, so you should take notes from the slideshows. You should memorize names of countries/cities. It is not very hard to get A in this class if you study your notes and follow his instructions.

I thought this class was going to be close to impossible, but Professor Ebiner makes sure that you get all of the info you need. You don't use a text book you only have to buy book he created($16) that is used during the lectures. Take good notes and study study study, if you don't you won't pass. His test are kind of challenging. Don' skip class!

I looked forward to coming to Professor Ebiner's class every week. He is such a great guy and has the best stories. Highly recommend this class because it is entertaining, inspirational and not that difficult. Professor Ebiner is a fantastic story teller and has so many to tell. 10/10

Very tought class. Maybe not for everyone but if you'll be taking up to 4 different classes in the semester like I was, then I don't recommend you take it. Although he is the only teacher that was teahing it in the semester I took it. Lectures are awesome but you'll have to invest hours of studying to be able to pass. Make sure to do all the maps!

Best teacher and class I have taken at this school. He is an amazing professor and has so many interesting stories of the 100+ countries he has visited. Class is 100% lecture, and all test questions are taken directly from the notes he gives.

Matt Ebiner made me changed my major to geography, he's class really amazing. Pay attention in class, review powerpoint and maps can help you get A. I got A, and I had the best score in the class. I enjoyed his lecture, all powerpoint pictures from his own travel and it is a super interesting. I wish i can take his class again!!!
