Comment:

Professor Heimburger is an excellent teacher and I truly enjoyed his class. Reading assignments were rigorous, but overall worth it in the end. He only gives out a few tests, so they jammed packed with tedious questions. His lectures are ambiguous, but interesting! I would take another class from him, even if I didn't need the credit.

Disappointing professor. Very conceited & enamoured w/himself. His grades are unfair , as are his expectations of students, while he puts little effrot & thought into his lectures. Please take my advice & select another professor.

There weren't many grades so each test was worth a large portion of your grade. Semester long writing assignment was tedious but in the end fulfilling. TA grading for test essays unfair...they only look for buzzwords.

This guy is wonderful. His class is funny, we learn a lot from his lectures, he loves history and can teach well. He relates to students well, and is always willing to help. I would take another class from him in a second. I declared a history minor after his course.

Comment:

Extremely good teacher with a great perspective and an interesting teaching style. Get a good TA because they teach too. This class is difficult, but not overwhelmingly so. My friends who thought it was hard never studied or read the material. Don't expect that because it's GE, it will be easy. But it is a great class, especially from Heimburger.

This guy is insane. He is a really nice guy, but tries too hard to be funny. His lectures are interesting, but he gets off on these crazy tangents that are his opinions. His tests are poorly written and has to add his sad humor in them. Though somewhat entertaining, be prepared for a C or a D.

I took the honors AmHtg class - it was very hard but he was a GREAT teacher. You can tell he loves to teach and loves his students. He's great - the class is hard work but since most people have to take it, take it from Heimburger...

HE was AMAZING!!! I love history in the first place and he made it soooo much better!!!! He is a great teacher and used great visiuals. He wasn't that hard and you know he loves to teach and wants you to learn!!!! GREAT CLASS

Prof. Heim was a really good teacher because he could keep my attention for most of the time. We watched a lot of video clips! The tests were pretty hard, but I learned a lot and was glad that I had him for American Heritage instead of some old guy.

This is the best class I took this semester! I looked forward to all of his class lectures because they were so funny, but so imformative as well. He tries very hard to be fair to his students. He really doesn't write hard tests because he wants his students to do well. Very sincere teacher.

Comment:

Professor Heimburger is the bomb! He is energetic, loves the students, and really knows the subject matter. In part, because of him,I'm now a political science major. For some, the tests were hard, but if you do the reading, you'll be good to go.
