Although a lot of reading was required for this course, Clark was an amazing professor, & if I could I would take more of his classes. Very informative, & kept class very engaged. One of the best professors I ever had. Attending lecture a must, and worth your time. As long as you pay attention in class and take good notes, should do well in class.

Excellent lecturer, goes off topic sometimes, but he definetly get's his point across. Open to alternate ideas, except he doesn't discuss the issue of race in antiquity or the notion of Cleo VII as Egyptian (alot of classicists and ancient historians don't, unfortunately). Otherwise, you'll enjoy his class and he cares about students

I had ZERO interest (Transformations of Ancient Lit--- could it sound anymore boring?) but now one of my fave classes. The readings are MANY but are fun and INTERESTING stories!! Clark lectures like the goofy dad you never had... cute puns & laughs at his own jokes. Can be a little boring but LOVES when people ask questions. Great prof!

He has an old school way of teaching, for example the use of overhead and thats it. He's a great professor though. He really knows his information and can present it well. I was very interested in what he was saying. I recommend doing all your readings or you won't understand the lectures, they are interesting so don't worry. No exam woo!

Prof Clark is pretty old school but he's an excellent lecturer - he's really clear and knows his stuff. He'll even throw in a few corny jokes during his lectures, too. Translations of Ancient Literature's a good course - definitely recommend.

He is an increadibly charismatic, intelligent, interesting, and most importantly understanding professor. His enthusiasm and encouragement actually make you want to learn. The best prof ever. He was also my TA in that class. I don't have an A in this class so far but honestly? He rocks! He helps you out so much, and not to mention, my first essay was a C, but the latest mid-term I got a B+. So, if you find his classes hard at first (which I hope you don't) don't give up! Professor, if you're reading this: YOU ROCK!

Prof. Clark is a very clear and funny professor. He has a sort of way of catching everyone's attention and getting them interested in the topic. We all love his funky hat! *all worship the funky hat* And around Christmas, bring him antlers or something to wear, because we have his word that he will!

Prof. Clark is the reason why I still have faith that York professors want to help students, not intimidate them. He helped me throughout my entire undergrad. He's genuinely concerened for the well being of his students. TAKE ANY COURSE HE TEACHES!!!!You won't regret it.

He tends to go off on tangents, but they often run a very thin thread to the material, so it's usually at least vaguely interesting. Very willing to help and you can tell that he's really passionate about the work. Really nice and a definite recommended prof!

This is my second year with him in Latin. He is an incredible teacher. He is so excited about the topics it's infectious. Even when he's on a tangent about punctuation it is hard to get bored. He's very helpful with the material if you don't understand and he'll explain until you get it. He is great
