I'm definitely dropping out next year. I find she goes over the same things over and over again and it's all very confusing. I still don't know how to "read between the lines" making it very difficult to write good papers.

Great prof! She enjoys class discussions and is very helpful and approachable. Attendance and participation are mandatory, so be sure to talk EVERY class, or your grade won't be as high as you may have expected. Reasonable marker, kind of on the hard side but will give you chances!

While I did find her to be very enthusiastic about the material and very nice, I found it hard to get a sense of what was a wrong answer. After questions were answered, she usually said "good" which made it hard for me to distinguish between what was an average answer, great answer or even a poor one. Overall, though, she was a good prof.

Awesome professor! Loved listening to her speak. If you have a true interest for English, take this course. If not, you'll probably be bored. Interactive lectures were great. Feel like I gained a true understanding of english literature from her. Lovely person too, and has a sense of humor. Will look for another course to take from her.

HATED this prof. Just really chooses favorites in classes. She marks hard, which isn't so much a complaint it just adds to the annoyance of trying to actually put your best effort into this class. I seriously hated English after this course. It wasn't a hard course, she just made it that way.

This is a class for actual English students. She doesn't just get you to memorize a bunch of facts, or repeat everything she says. You have to think for yourself, form opinions, work! If you can't handle that, then don't take this course... and think about getting out of English altogether.

Terrible Prof, very little help and as others have said she will tear your essays apart. Going from scholar english marks in highschool to barely passing is a pain.(Turned me off english for life) Good Luck if you have her.

Maureen is a very intelligent prof. She knows a lot about what she's talking about. For all you Eng 100 students, you clearly aren't putting effort into your essays. So what she rips it apart, thats for you to learn from. I think she's a great prof who is very kind and helpful. The key to doing well is to read the material. Its that simple!
