I was REALLY dreading this class due to a bad experience in Freshmen Comp (see Peterson), but Professor Blackman was amazing! I found myself enjoying writing for the first time in my life. The papers do require rather profound thought, which she helps you with. She is also a very kind and understanding woman. Definitely take her!

Blackman is the best teacher I have ever had! Her classes are never lectures; she keeps everyone involved, and it's fun! Our class talked about sex all the time because it always had to do something in the reading homework. She understands college students and never gives quizes. She's a sweety!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this teacher!!!! Best teacher I've probably ever had. She makes you think but it's not a hard class. The papers are actually kind of fun. She's very helpful, easy to approach and talk to. Very personable. I love her view on education :-) Has a very positive outlook on the class.
