He challenges his students and wants to see them reach their potential. My advice is to take on the challenge and be active and participate in the class. Go to him for help, you will get a better grade. He was probably the best professor I have ever had, and that is because I stepped up when he challenged me.

The best professor I have ever had. If you ask him for help, he will make sure that you will do well in his class. He will always help and grades on improvement throughout the semester. Show an interest in his class and be ready to work and he will always go the extra mile.

For serious folks only, very diciplened course, and a very practical professor. I loved his style because I hate academia and pure theory professors. they are posinously boring. He is very activeand he challenges you. Learned a great deal.

This guy teaches at RIT. His Corp Finance class is pretty ridiculous. He wants students to learn on there own... from the textbook. He makes a simple class extraordinarily more difficult than it should be. Class consists of students teaching and unclear material. Its his way or drop. Avoid this guy unless you know what you're doing.

Worst teacher out there. He doesnt teach. He makes the students teach each other and cant explain things when the entire class is lost. He thinks he God-sent but in reality hes so lazy he might as well not show up to class.

He was tough but fair. You had to do the homework and be prepared but in the end the classmates helped you learn what the material was about.

Very hard course. You have to do pretty much everything on your own. If you can teach yourself from reading, this class is for you. Hardest professor ever!

Courses are difficult but rewarding, I learned the most in his classes. I had Merouane for 336, 337, and 470 and he was always helpful and interested in students' success. He likes when students contribute to class discussions and demonstrate understanding, as classes are mostly discussion based. Always highly accessible for students needing help.

If you are a slacker, your going to fail. He knows the type of student you are from the first time you talk to him. Great Guy, always willing to help. His office is always opened and i would highly recommend him. I wish every professor at fisher was like him.

If you like to teach your self, sign up for this class. We are in november, more than half way through the class, and all he still talks about is how great of a teacher he is, and how he is hard because he wants us to do well over and over.. he is hard because he doesn't ever teach, he has a student teach the material.

If you demonstrate a solid ability to do the coursework and understand the material, Merouane will call on you often to demonstrate your method to the class. Definitely not favoritism of one person, but gives any capable student the chance to prove him/herself and help teach their peers. Builds confidence in the material & public speaking ability

The class is hard, but he'll definitely help you out, and your grades aren't just performance based, they're curved and he grades on effort. And he's easy to understand. You'll need to learn the steps for financial analysis and write a good formula sheet, but like any class, if you do the problems right you'll earn the grade. Take responsibility.

capacity. The second was to inspire. I thought that if a teacher could inspire a group of students out of apathy and teach them something in the process, then that teacher would be legendary. Among all of the teachers that I have had, Dr. Merouane Lakehal-Ayat is someone that can truly educate as well as inspire. I do not need someone to hold my h

It must have been my first day in AP United States history (in high school) when I realized that the teacher would no longer be there to hold my hand while navigating this microcosm of higher education. From that point onward, the teacher from my perspective had two roles. The first was to educate; a role that was solely based upon an informative c

In the first week of this course, I almost dropped it because of the professor. Very difficult to understand. Has one student (same every week) go over homework problems. Never gives all the info. needed for papers/exams. Blames low scores on papers on students' laziness/irresponsibility - he never takes any responsibility. Don't take him!

Adjunct at RIT..they shouldn't invite him back - teaching a quarter class on semester schedule...disorganized teaching style...not clear on expectations but scolds when you don't understand - it's a 100 level class and we're expected to write a paper as an upper-level finance student. Avoid him.

One student from each class acts as the TA and basically teaches class. Lakehal will just go over what he WANTS you to learn from each chapter and leaves the learning & application up to you. The tests are REDICULOUS and he gives you NO INSIGHT or preparation to what is on them. This guy should not be a PhD. OR A TEACHER!
