97% of what people are saying about Merry is wrong. If you don't understand something go to her office and ask. She loves to help in every way possible and truly cares about her students grasping concepts. Her classes are tough, but that's called learning by comprehension. College is not easy and neither is the real world, get used to it.

Dr. Merry used to be a good professor before she took over the Master's program. Now she just does not have the time to effectively teach. Her graduate assistants have ended up doing far more work than she, and this is very unfair. The class has little structure and attempts to cover far too much material.

She is very boring to listen to. She does NOT elaborate on her powerpoints at all. You have to do ALL of the worksheets, but don't get any points for them. however if you don't do the worksheets, you get NEGATIVe points. If you don't have to take her classes, DON'T. She's the worst CS teacher in the department.

Expects you to memorize an entire program for a lab exam? Memorize more code for regular exams. Approx 600-700 points total in the course. 400pts came in the form of 1-100pt lab exam, 200pt final, and 1-100pt exam in the last 7 days of the semester. Learn to schedule stuff.

Excellent teacher!!! The only students who do poorly in her classes are those that think they can slide by with B's (and end up failing). Read the book and powerpoints, and do all worksheets. One of my favs.

She is hard as hell...........doesnt know how to teach at all........coming to class is like wastiong your time........because all she does is reads the slides. She teaches as if she has memorized all the stuff and just comes to class and says it all.
