Unreasonable at a different level. Failed 75% class in Fall 2017 for fluids 2. His lectures are really good but his expectations are much much higher. If you don't give him the answer he expects, you get zero. I WILL NEVER IN MY LIFE TAKE A COURSE WITH HIM AGAIN. I took the class again with a different professor and ended with a B+ without effort.

Not only do I recommend avoiding him at all costs, but if there is a course that you need to take and he is teaching just one of the sections, while the other sections have different proffs, I recommend taking that course at a different time when he is not teaching it to avoid any chance of him having a hand at writing or grading any of your exams.

If you and all your friends are interested in failing fluid mechanics 2, be sure to enroll in Professor Yaras's class. A complete self-absorbed narcissist that does not care about his students. If at all possible, avoid taking courses with Yaras, you are simply just wasting your time and money.

I was very fortunate to attend classes with Prof. Yaras in undergrad mechanical & grad aerospace. He was also my advisor for my masters. Prof. Yaras gave me training and preparation that changed my life - making my subsequent career possible. He's a genius, he cares about teaching, and I was incredibly lucky that he took me on as a grad student.

Definitely makes you work. He is very through and precise and he expects his students to be the same. He argues everything from the fundamentals which I have emulated ever since. Working with Yaras left me ready for the real world. I'm grateful he expected such high standards from me.

Had him for two years and I think he is, by far, the best teacher I have ever had. Although tough, but you learn tons from him. After finishing, I felt very competent and definitely much more knowledgeable in the field which is due to all the invaluable discussions I've had with him. Definitely a precious gift to Carleton!

Belittled, rude, only helps those that he thinks are worth his time. I'd heard great things about his teaching abilities for fluids, but at as a person, and on a one-on-one basis - horrible! People quit grad school because of this man - do NOT join his project group, it will definitely be a regret!

Never does examples,purposeley doesn't post solutions, You may think he's good because he tries to engage you in class but in the end it waters down the course material, and your mark suffers.
