He is ABSOLUTELY the WORST professor there is. He thinks you know everything, doesn't help. His quizzes and tests are ridiculous. He just speaks the entire time and doesn't bother clarifying questions. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

He's difficult to understand sometimes, makes things more complicated then they have to be, and has a poor gradiong system. His quizzes are based off the homework, he has a strange sense of humor, and compared to the other 109 teacher he is probably the better choice. Calculus has been difficult to learn, but with some effort, I was still able to.

Worst math teacher I've ever had. Alif never shows examples of how to solve problems in the notes, so when you are left to do homework and study, it is hard to understand what you're doing. Almost never gives partial credit and doesn't care if you pass or fail.

Worst teacher I've ever had. He gets distracted very easily and is pretty entertaining, but I did not learn a thing from him and got really inconsistent grades because of it. Not recommended.

Alif may be the funniest and most random professor at Canisius, but his teaching style does not benefit the student. Going to office hours didn't help and asking for a review sheet in class will only get you a lecture about Slovenian education. He gets side tracked very easily and tends to hit his head on the chalkboard too much.

Dr. Alif is, yes .. a funny professor, however that is it. A student attended class everyday and still ended up with an F, another two with D's ... does this seem right? No. He is not willing to help you, he is set in ways. The tests are AWFUL and he does not give partial credit, if it's wrong it's wrong. Overall, DO NOT TAKE HIM.

Awesome guy, terrible teacher. He tells a lot of stories and it's easy to get him sidetracked. He's hilarious! However, he isn't a good teacher. His methods are confusing and he makes frequent mistakes. I went to his office, but it didn't help. I also went to tutoring, but the tutors said he was a horrible teacher and they didn't remember anything.

Hard to understand and he gets easily sidetracked. His lectures barely make sense. His goofy sense of humor is his only attribute. Homework is graded easily if you do it mostly right, but quizzes and tests are short and difficult. If you get a couple wrong, you are close to failing.

Superb teacher. One of the best I have ever had, including high school (Nardin and Nichols). I hated mathematics prior to taking calculus with Alif. Now I want to be a mathematics major. JUST SUPPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Alif is clearly passionate about math, and very knowledgeable. He will help you if you have any questions, but sometimes his board notes and problems are very hard to understand. Definitely recommend taking another prof, but if you have to take him, study the sections in your book every night in addition to homework.

Not the best teacher, good idea to know some clac before hand. But, easy easy grader, extremely nice and funny, does as many hw problems as you want for you and only assigns hw with answers already in the textbook. Tests are also very easy so long as you do the hw, the questions are usually exactly the same as te hw, only 3 tests and a few easy qui

Don't take this professor...he is very hard to understand because of his accent and don't teach the material at all....expects you to learn most of the material on your own and for calc. that is extremely hard...i switched out after 4 weeks and i also took pre-calc in high school

I really liked Alif. Yes he is tough, but thats college, learn to deal with it. He is very helpful if you care at all about your grade. Always there to clarify difficult material just use the office hours.Also very funny at times, just have to get to know his sense of humor. Take him if you are not afraid to put some effort into it.

You might say to yourself on the first day "Oh my God, this class is gonna be so easy". You'll find yourself dead wrong within the first week. Unless you copy everything off the board and memorize it, the best you'll get on his tests will be a 6/10. Learn how to teach yourself because learning is impossible in his class.
