Comment:

He's ok. Gives his politcal opinions alot but not graded on them. Teacher asistant is great. 5 200page books to read + midterm paper and final. Thus alot of work but fairly easy. If you took good notes and put on the sheet he allows, you'll be good. As he says, focus on trends and greater significance. Notice how only the Lefties say he's flawless?

My favorite professor at Rutgers. He doesn't believe in just repeating a PowerPoint slide to you and actually engages people with his lectures and approach to the subject matter. I am taking another class with him next semester and looking forward to it.

The most dedicated professor in the dept. His mastery and depth of historical information is seen his teaching. Initially, I struggled with my writing, but after meeting him a few times during office hours, i excelled. His test can be slightly difficult. I bought his book "Machines" after i took his class. Amazing! Everyone should read it.

absolutely loved him! his lectures are very interesting and he talked about the not so obvious side of history. the format makes it hard to guarantee an A (one essay and a final) but it was very interesting and he is an engaging lecturer

Really great professor. The class was easy if you took notes and put them on the review sheet. I barely did any of the readings except for the books he assigned because they were interesting. He is a fair grader and wonderful teacher I recommend him to anyone interested in history

Speaking of which, yes he does have strong opinions, which he occasionally shares. Theres nothing wrong with that at all, and he respects everyones views and is never the slightest bit rude or condescending to students with different ones. I can't stand these conservative "acedemic freedom" advocates,haha, who just try to shut up any progressive.

Excellent Prof. Very engaging lecturer, very passionate about material. Cares more about understanding major concepts than memorizing every detail, (allows info sheet for exams). Good, diverse reading list and excellent lecture material, class partipation is a big plus for your grade. Really nice guy. Notice only bad reviews are by right wingers?

He's a very smart man and his lectures are very engaging. There's a midterm and a final. Exams are neither easy or impossible, but going to lecture is vital to passing (although attendance is not mandatory). There is a 7-10 paper and he likes good writing. Overall, awesome class and awesome professor.

I took both Global history sections with Adas, and the second time the grade improved one full letter. For some reason he likes to keep people in suspense, especially with the final, which unlike what someone said, is not easy. Professor Adas goes over so much, and does a bad job narrowing it down. His class was a great experience otherwise.

Prof Adas. was a great professor. He really knows what he is talking about. He may have some liberal political views, but that's not what the course is about. He knew a great deal about World Wars I & II and the mid term paper was easy and the final was even easier. You were allowed to make a cheat paper, but I didnt even need mine- easy class.

Adas is the best history professor at Rutgers if not wider! I know it as a Rutgers grad and former undergrad. Challenge yourself even if you disagree with his political views! Do not be confined to the small world of parocialism

It is true that Adas has a tendency to rant and he is very open with his political views. He loves to talk to students and is more than willing to listen to your views as well. The class isn't difficult if you attend and the TAs are excellent. I would definitely take another class with Adas.
