Great prof! interested and extremely knowledgable in his subject. Loved the online message board for discussion. Open to differing opinions and interpretations, choices in the assignments (don't need to write a formal paper!). Take his class!

He's very interested in what he is teaching, which helps to keep students interested. Nice choice in assignments-I liked that there was an option to NOT write a formal paper in this class. Online resources were easy to follow although not always available, but the online message board was very helpful. I'd recommend him

Great teacher...pretty slack about assignments and attendence, but you need that when you've got a full load, it didn't mean I didn't learn anything. You can tell he loves what he does, and that makes you like it.

i took him and sanghara back to back in the summer and they were like night and day.Best sticks to the schedule,gives good lectures,answers questions,is flexible,not a grammar nazi,and has a nice accent:)into mod.technology with his website,and gave us until midnight to hand in essays.The final was open book and he was clear about what was on it.

He was such a terrible professor it was almost a joke, aside from the fact that I was interested in the subject matter and really wanted to get something out of it. Don't be fooled by his name, one of the worst English teachers at UVic. Extremely superficial look at Shakespeare, take him only if you want to learn plot summaries and acting techniques.

Website is very good. Lectures almost identical to material in the course pack for his online version of the course (engl 366e). Mark is heavily weighted to final exam (60%). Not enough weight on other assignments. He's officially retired now.

Loved the audio tapes, really gets deep into the bard,and he's funny too.
