I have taken five classes with Dr. Coulter, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. He is a kind, good guy who wants to make a difference in his students' lives. He is there to help. He makes the class fun and breaks down the difficult sections in heavier philosophy readings. He knows it doesn't have to be a spirit-breaking challenge to learn.

Comment:

Most people take Coulter for Poli Sci 101, in which he is not the best. He is confusing and can read straight from the textbooks. HOWEVER, if you happen to take him for other classes, he is SO much better. His niche is political theory, and if you take him for one of those classes, he's good and knowledgeable. I would recommend.

I had Coulter in intro to POLS. The class was not that great. The reading material did not line up with his lectures. He would barely touch on things in class which would be in his tests. Forget about getting your paper back within any reasonable amount of time. It took him over two months to get my papers back to me.

Coulter's class was miserable. Reads straight from the book a lot, which is annoying. He also mumbles and closes his eyes. Combined with lame PowerPoint slides and boring material, and you get a bad mix. Tests were a crapshoot, since the material was so abstract. This class frustrated me to no end. Unless you adore political science, stay away.

Dr. Coulter is awesome! Some of his material is a bit boring, but that's just the nature of his subject. He makes class as interesting as possible and he's a really funny and nice guy. Do yourself a favor and get to know him outside of class! Also, make sure that you take good notes and at least skim the readings. His objective tests are not easy.

Dr. Coulter is a great professor for small, discussion oriented classes. He is funny, smart, and awesome. 101 wasn't as great, but I believe his strength is in upper level courses. Very nice man. I recommend him.

Frustrating class to say the least. Most of the class consists of outraged students having ethical screaming matches with one another. For those students that choose to NOT fight, we sit quitely... and therefore get screwed over when it comes to participation points. great stuff..not. I had an A average before participation was factored in. dumb.

I took Dr. Coulter for intersession and really really enjoyed him. The readings he assigns are applicable to what we are learning. I feel so much more cultured and knowledable about American history from taking the class. He's a bit disorganized, but you won't suffer on his tests because of it. One word of warning: his 8s often look like 3s.beware.

Dr. Coulter is a great Professor. Admittedly the 101 class is a little dry and can be boring at times, but Coulter's upper level courses are great small setting group discussions. It is in this setting that he really excels as a professor. He is also really pretty funny! I would highly recommend Dr. Coulter for Poly Sci fans.

Coulter was an awful professor when I had him and as it turns out, he was the worst professor I have ever had. His lectures were unorganized and usually were not pertinent to the course material. He mumbled a lot...I do not even know how I made it through the entirety of his course. I cannot believe a college actually lets this man teach.

Don't listen to all the people who took 101. That is a bad class to have to teach. The truth is that Coulter is a great profesor and you will learn alot, especially in the field of public policy and sub-national politics. He is very helpful and cares alot about students here!

his classes have no purpose at all. spends too much time mumbling and looking like a retard. the assignments remind me of projects i did in third grade. i feel more stupid after walking out of his class. less than half the class usually comes, probably because his stuttering is maddening. i learned absolutely nothing at all.
