Dr. Darre is a great guy super passionate and funny. But he expects you to know a lot of material before you even get to class. I'm lucky I took ANSC 1111 before this one or else I would fail. The exams are hard, and not really about what he teaches you. I think he's just taught this course for too long and I'm sad he's retiring but also relieved.

Taken all of Dr. Darre's courses (Intro, Behavior, Poultry Science). He is a great guy and knowledgeable professor. At first many see him as intimidating but if you really get to know him you learn to understand his sarcasm and "dad jokes." All his classes have generally the same structure and are easy to pass if you pay attention. Retiring in2018

Professor Darre is the best professor ever! I am an international student and late for choose my class. ANSC1001 is so hot and have no seat for me. I'm so lucky that Professor Darre gave me the permission number to let me enroll in this course. ANSC1001 is really fun. We can groom and play with our own animals in little I. DON'T MISS THIS COURSE!

Dr. Darre knows his stuff. He expects you to listen, understand and remember every single little thing he says in lecture, or that is in any films or labs. His tests are extremely difficult for an Intro level class, and certain questions on the exams were definitely not covered. I struggled for a B as a SENIOR and I am usually an A student.

I loved Dr. Darre. His lectures are always interesting and you can clearly tell he is passionate about his job. Yes, his exams can be tricky, but if you study off the old ones and pay close attention in lecture you'll do just fine.

Comment:
This class is pretty intersting, but I don't reccomend taking it if you are not an ANSC minor or major. The course load is heavy and it takes up a lot of your time. One thing I do not like about this class is that Darre's exams trick you very easily, even if you know the information. The best part about the class was picking animal to work with.

Dr. Darre was a good lecturer, the practice exams are a big help he sometimes reuses questions on them. Little I and lab assignments are definitely good grade boosters, you don't have to get an A on all of the exams to do well.

Dr. Darre is an interesting tester (to put it nicely). He's a nice guy who has the unfortunate job of weeding kids out of the AS major. The material really isn't difficult, his tests are just ridiculous. He phrases things oddly and 9 times out of 10 adds a "non of the above" answer that has you questioning your whole existence. STUDY OFF OLD EXAMS

Great professor. He can't stop himself from joking all the time, so his lectures are pretty fun. Doesn't like to answer questions much in class, but if you go to his office hours, he will do whatever he can to help you. Definitely go to class, he asks lots of trick questions on his exams that you won't get if you missed the lecture.

For anyone who has said Dr. Darre has hard test that's hysterical! Dr. Darre asks exactly what he has said. I had a minimal amount of studying needed to get an A in poultry science. Loved him in Intro too.

Dr. Darre is really helpful but tricky. His exams are really difficult and test you more on your ability to fine focus on the question and not really what you learned in the class. He uses reverse psychology and doesn't change the answers. Aside from that, he's nice and into what he does. Just make sure you study a lot and do good on your labs.

Dr. Darre is an Ok teacher, he's funny and keeps lectures and labs interesting. Exams are brutal. its50 multiple choice and most of them are very tricky. He does curve a little bit. He will add about4-5 points to your over all grade but t doesn't help much. Labs and little I are good grade boosters. I had an average of a d for my exams But got a b

He's a great guy who keeps that class interesting, but his exams can be brutal. Frankly don't even try to study without looking over old exams, if you study off old exams you'll probably get an A without any problems. Labs are an easy grade booster, so do those thoroughly, and make sure to get full credit for Little I as that should be easy points

He is very funny in lecture and cracks corny jokes left and right. Exams are hard and full of test questions, but he pretty much uses the same exams every year so study old exams (Dr. Zinn has them) and you'll be totally fine. All you need is a 90 to get an A in the class. Curves each exam by 4/6 points. Do-able class.
