He is a nice guy and all, but this is the most boring class I was ever in. I usually enjoy history classes, but I literally hate this class. We usually watch some old movie that puts you to sleep for half of the class. Then once he starts lecturing, he goes onto 20 different topics in 2 minutes and makes zero sense.

Dr. DeMichelle, don't get me wrong, is an extremely nice guy and means very well but he is a very difficult grader so you most likely will not get an A... All you do is watch movies and then taking an exam on them however the exam consists of far more specific questions than you would expect... And he is a very critical grader for papers as well...

Dr. DeMichelle is a very friendly teacher and wants to see all his students succeed. However, he does not allow for alot of discussion in Hist 219. It is an class where you watch video segments of historical topics and take tests based on those videos. Critical grader, so you probably wont get an A but you also probably won't fail.

I took his class because it was recommended highly. I couldn't have been more disappointed. He clearly favors history majors. He picks 5 people whose opinions he likes, and no one else matters. I never received a paper grade below 90 in my life. He gave me an 80. English teachers said it was a great paper. He tore through the page while grading it.

demichele is one of the best teachers you could have. he is very understanding and always willing to help. tests are easy as long as you take notes and actually study. i've had him for 4 classes and intend to take him again. i recommend him highly.

Most of the class is watching boring videos with a little info added by the prof. 2 tests, midterm and final, and 1 huge project worth 60% of your grade. Not a bad class, but not a great class. Not much homework except for working on the project throughout the semester.

great teacher, loved his class, had him twice b4 n still great. very knowledgable on subject matter. tests can be tricky, but all essay so that helps. film based class on ethnic minorities. tests based on notes from films so dont miss often.
